Today @WCKitchen lost several of our sisters and brothers in an IDF air strike in Gaza. I am heartbroken and grieving for their families and friends and our whole WCK family. These are people…angels…I served alongside in Ukraine, Gaza, Turkey, Morocco, Bahamas, Indonesia. They are not faceless…they are not nameless. The Israeli government needs to stop this indiscriminate killing. It needs to stop restricting humanitarian aid, stop killing civilians and aid workers, and stop using food as a weapon. No more innocent lives lost. Peace starts with our shared humanity. It needs to start now.

Very interesting study. Using a huge cohort and an impressively rigorous design, the authors found that COVID-19 vaccines likely reduced the risk of cardiovascular events by 70-90% for people who caught COVID-19
New paper in Heart compares vaccinated to unvaccinated with respect to cardiovascular events including myocardial infarction, heart failure, arrhythmia/cardiac arrest, myocarditis and clotting events including strokes, thrombosis deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, and venous thromboembolism through 1, 2, 6, and 12 months in electronic medical record cohorts of 20 million from UK, Spain and Estonian.
They adjust for measured cofounders using propensity scores weighting, adjust for unmeasured confounders using negative controls, and federated learning to combine data across countries.
All events had significantly lower risk through 1m including myocarditis, and most through 12 months, providing strong evidence vaccination rollouts substantially reduced risk of cardiovascular events.

This article is ridiculous. I spent 10 months in the International Legion and seven of those in Kharkiv on it near the zero line including the 2022 Kharkiv counter offensive. A US, Special Forces, ODA could impart some very basic skills to the basic trainees and staff in Yavoriv. But to be completely honest the 8 weeks polygon training the Ukrainian recruits go through is intense and based on real experience of Ukr combat veterans w/10 years of fighting the
Russia with all of its resources.
Fact: Ukrainian, SSO/SOF & GRU are going to be training the American SOF in the coming years. For example, 1.5 and 2 km kill shots by snipers are considered nstandards, not limits.
US soldiers, no matter how experienced in Iraq and Afghanistan have no clue what is happening on the ground out here. There is limited artillery support, intelligence at the Battalion level is what you collect visually or by drone, there is NO air support. Communications are what you make. You stay on the zero line for weeks and in artillery range for MONTHS. Insertions and extraction are done by pick up truck, APC or on foot. The artillery environment is insane. Now add Lancet & Russian FPV drones and random ballistic missiles falling from the sky. This level of intensity of combat hasn’t been seen since Vietnam and Korea for the US Army.
Give the Ukrainians the weapons they need without limit and this war will end, and Ukraine can start sharing lessons learned.
The employment of A-teams into Ukrainian territory to train, advise, and assist Ukrainian forces requires little imagination, no adaptation, and few modifications. It does require political will and a fresh calculation of risk. ow.ly/zl0E30sAzzC
