Mount Marty University will host candidates for the Sister Mary Arthur Schramm Nursing scholarship interviews in the month of November, giving first year and transfer students the opportunity to receive $33,000 per year in scholarships for the duration of their time at the university. Sister Mary Arthur Schramm, a retired nursing professor, started the university’s nurse anesthesia program more than 50 years ago.
Students must have a 3.8 unweighted GPA to be considered for the scholarship interview, which includes meeting with nursing faculty, sitting in on a nursing class, complimentary lunch on campus, and a faculty-guided tour of the Avera Science & Nursing Center. Interested students can read more about the scholarship and register here: loom.ly/00MW-u0
Class of 1977 alumnus Dr. Steven Feeney and his wife, Ruth, have made a landmark planned gift commitment to Mount Marty University. Their inspiring contribution will enhance residence life, support programs in biology, chemistry, and Justice Studies, and expand the Dr. Steven and Ruth Feeney Endowed Scholarship Fund. We are deeply grateful for their extraordinary generosity and dedication to our students!
"Mount Marty made a difference in my life, and Ruth and I are fortunate to be in a position to give back," says Dr. Feeney.

Building on tradition. Growing for the future. 🎓
Mount Marty University is proud to announce our highest student enrollment since 2009!
This milestone reflects the dedication of our faculty, staff, and community, as well as the trust our students place in a Benedictine education centered on leadership, service, and academic excellence.
Thank you to everyone who supports our mission and helps keep the Lancer tradition thriving across all our campuses.
Last Friday, we were proud to host the official ribbon cutting and opening of the new Coach Rozy Performance weight room!
This state-of-the-art facility represents a major investment in the physical development, health, and athletic excellence of our student-athletes.
Key features of the upgraded facility include:
- 38 power racks designed for optimal strength development
- Integrated iPads on every rack for precise, real-time performance tracking
- Expanded premium equipment to support comprehensive training for all sports programs
We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who helped turn this vision into a reality. The future of Lancer Athletics is brighter, and stronger, than ever.
We are so excited to have our fall athletes back on campus today! Wishing everyone a smooth move-in day and an amazing start to the upcoming year. We can’t wait to welcome the rest of our Lancers back to campus soon!
The calm before move-in day...
Tomorrow, the fog clears and Lancer Nation arrives! Safe travels to our fall athletes! 💙💛
Last Friday, we had the privilege of celebrating the Class of 2028 Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice students at the annual Blessing of the Hands ceremony in Sioux Falls. Surrounded by the love and support of family, friends, and faculty, the students received prayer, scripture, and words of encouragement as they prepare to begin clinicals. We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and look forward to watching them grow into exceptional nurse anesthetists. May God guide and bless them throughout this next chapter of their journey. 💙💛

Congratulations to Mount Marty's very own Dr. Danielle Pierotti on her prestigious appointment to the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC).
As one of just 17 national healthcare experts on this independent federal body, Dr. Pierotti will bring a vital, nursing-centered perspective to Congress, ensuring the unique challenges of rural healthcare get the national attention they deserve.
We are incredibly proud to have Mount Marty leadership representing our community and driving evidence-based healthcare policy in Washington, D.C.

Earlier this month, a group of our students and campus leaders wrapped up a unique three-week immersive experience. By following the traditional prayer and work schedules outlined in the Rule of Saint Benedict, participants gained firsthand insight into Benedictine values.
The trip was truly transformative, equipping our campus community to better incorporate these timeless practices into our daily lives.
