Claim that N sea gas is “much cleaner” than importing LNG is untrue: if you add impact of burning the gas, as @CarbonBrief shows, difference is marginal. But extracting more from N Sea adds more to total amount of fossil fuels burned globally. It’s reckless & unnecessary 🧵2/4

I have posted a reply to what I consider an unfair (and shockingly ungenerous) review of The Green Bullet.

The BBC's failure to ever report on Carole's findings was the biggest editorial failure in its history. She should have been on every programme and power should have been held to account... instead she was called "a mad cat lady" by @afneil and ignored by everyone else. Shameful.
Here it is. This is the clip from yesterday's @CNN interview where I'm asked - for first time ever - about Brexit-Trump-Russia.
"These vital questions of national security have been interpreted as about politics. And it's not about politics. It's about power. And about Putin."
Train home 60 mins late, as usual. If Delay Repay was paid on arrival, and not via a bureaucratic postal procedure, I predict that these delays would stop instantly.

Quoted in the Guardian today on the technical hopium that, in my experience, has become widespread among many, usually senior, climate experts.

Happy 90th, Steve Reich. Steve’s “Six Marimbas” always brings a bunched up, speeding peloton to mind. That’s why I asked @sticksorleaves
to create sth similar for the Real Peloton podcast 16 years ago.

I'm a bit puzzled that these climate scientists give our civilization to the end of the century. I can't see it lasting until the middle of the century, in the context of the climate and ecological crisis. This is not inevitable, it can be avoided, but it is this total denial of the climate and ecological crisis, what it means for our societies, and this bizarre false belief that we can carry on with business as usual, that is making early collapse inevitable.
There is no scientific basis for this AI threat stuff, it is pie in the sky imagination. Sure AI is a real threat, in terms of the building of all these energy guzzling, water guzzling data centres. Plus it is predicated on replacing most of the human workforce, where most people will be seen as surplus to requirements. But it is totally bizarre that they ignore the real threat from the climate and ecological emergency, backed up by massive scientific evidence, and dwell on the fevered imaginings of some computer nerds.
