AI model development follows the “better than the beetles” dynamics we see in pharmaceuticals. Every new model must be better the all the previous ones. And with the release of a new model all existing ones become almost worthless.
What could be generics here? A previous model could go open source to keep some relevancy after a new closed source model has taken the lead. Maybe?
