This. 👇 This is such a quality move by Maq Valley.
A subtle thing: Maquoketa Valley has put Anna Nefzger in the scorebook as #22 all season.
Nefzger would have been a senior this year, passed in an ATV accident between 7th/8th grade.
She was on trajectory to be the athletic equal of Imler, Tucker and Whittenbaugh.

Players: Your athletic career is very temporary; character lasts a lifetime. The person you are is far more important than the player. Are you kind, trustworthy, compassionate? Do you help ppl? Is your word more than just words? Be someone people respect as an athlete & a person.

@aplitchat I am looking for some titles specifically about hunting and the outdoors for my classroom library. Any suggestions? This would be for 9th-10th grade students. TIA!
A6: 2020 brought 2 college kids home, a HS S home, and me working from home. My lesson? Make lemons out of lemonade. It was such a great time to reconnect. #aplitchat
A5: “I have to say that although it broke my heart, I was, and still am, glad I was there.” Markus Zusak, The Book Thief #aplitchat
A4: “We need never be hopeless because we can never be irreperably broken.” John Green Looking for Alaska #aplitchat
A3: Definitely working to go more in depth on analysis and taking risks. #aplitchat
Q2: Thesis statements and avoiding the chicken claw, lots of reading since we lost so much time in the spring including Streetcar, Twelfth Night, an alienation/ relationship novel and 1stround of fixed form poetry. Going a mile wide right now to drill down 2nd sem. #alplitchat
A1. This is really hard. We've been F2F and switched to hybrid. I'm most proud of the organization that I have developed which has given a consistent format to students. #aplitchat
WU: Jill from Iowa. Tomorrow we are going through the significant events of Twelfth Night and determining the motifs that are significant enough to make good writing topics. #aplitchat
