Last Friday was my last day with my grade 1s. Bittersweet as I begin my maternity leave. The teacher who gets to spend the rest of the year with these students is lucky - they have the biggest hearts and are are always eager to learn new things! ❤️

This morning our special friend of the day decided to write her name with a pattern. Afterwards, she told us it was an “ABC” pattern and asked if she could label it for us! 👏🏻

We have been doing a lot of learning about Truth and Reconciliation this week through read alouds such as “When We Were Alone” and “You Hold me Up”. Gr. 1’s are very proud of their orange shirts! @PrinceEdwardPS
We have been doing some number mazes to practice our counting. Yesterday, A decided to make her own maze for the class to try. Start at 1 and count on. Can you get to the zoo?! @PrinceEdwardPS
Got to send these kiddos home with “proud of you” tickets today for their hard work, kindness, and leadership in our classroom ❤️

We do a soft start to begin our day in 1K. Students get to interact with one another while they prepare for our day of learning. This builds community and sets the tone for our day! @PrinceEdwardPS

First day of first grade feelings! After reading First Day Jitters, students got to share how they felt today. Even my friend who was “angry” had a huge smile on all day 😉😊
I had a great first day as a Pacer! Feeling lucky to be part of such a great school community. We saved some time for play at the end of our day. Students showed great teamwork, sharing, and responsibility in our classroom. So proud! @PrinceEdwardPS
