Analog 5.8 GHz video drops the second trees or hills get in the way... so what about Digital Video over LoRa?
BPYL built an 868 MHz sub-GHz video link using H.265 compression, stripe refresh and frequency hopping.
Powered by a Semtech LR2021 radio, an ESP32-S3 and a Luckfox Pico Mini encoder, the system streams low-resolution H.265 video at roughly 25 frames per second with an estimated 150 ms latency.
Instead of cutting to black, the video degrades gracefully outperforming a 2.5W analog setup through dense forests.
Would you trade a bit of latency for bulletproof obstacle penetration on long-range UAV or ground rover builds?

🚙 LiDAR Reflector Rover — Autonomous Driving Without SLAM or ArduPilot! 🛰
Built by Takumi Abe, this M5Stack rover uses six fixed LiDAR reflectors 📍 to locate itself, then combines that position with wheel and IMU odometry ⚙ to follow a route—all on board, with no external computer! 🤖
🗺 #AtomS3 processes LiDAR scans to estimate the rover’s position
🧭 #CoreS3 fuses sensor data, drives the motors, and follows checkpoints
🎯 Over two laps, the rover drops Othello disks at the same spots—a hands-on test of its accuracy!

github.com/PX4/PX4-Autopilot…
