Last Friday, @cyborgsoloists hosted our first Symposium, Music Ex Machina. We had 9 papers across a range of practice-research+technology and @mugloch gave an excellent keynote on Individuation and Technology. @mirabenjy and I finished the day premiering Scott's 'Entangled Trio'.

Have to agree with @morss_alex's main point here: planting trees won't produce anything *remotely* like the depicted Wistman's Wood.
For more (badly needed) rainforest, by far the best way is to prevent grazing of surviving pockets, so the entire, *wild*, ecosystem can expand.

Out of 240 nations on Earth, Ireland ranks a catastrophic 13th from the bottom in how nature is doing.
My piece in today's @IrishTimes on why our need for the Nature Restoration Law could not be greater, and any MEPs who vote it down will be betraying us all, including farmers.

I was told not to tweet this until the houses adjourned for fear of jinxing it, but the Minnesota legislature just completed what is probably the most productive session anywhere in the country since probably the New Deal. Sweeping bills and reforms across every area of life.

We chat about making/curating a system, and agency within that, vs “performing” with an instrument. How complex and chaotic systems can interact with each other regardless of our intents.

First ever visit to the Tectonics festival, albeit only for the main evening gig. Went mainly to hear Linda Buckley's "Mallacht" (which was amazing), but the other three premieres (by Rufus Isabel Elliot, Scott McLaughlin & Somei Satoh) were stunning too. I must do this again.
