yup, I hit 10k followers!
super cool number and all, but is it really 10k? probably not. never really cared much for follower count anyway because the majority of the time we see high numbers like this, we don't really see the levels of engagement to match. but even then, that's not really a big deal to me either. twitter is a numbers game to most, but heck, these numbers could have easily been pulled years ago with something like a giveaway.
so what number does matter to me, if not this? I've said it time and time again, but I think this is a good opportunity to say it one more time. 10,000 is cool and a huge number, but the number that means something to me is the number of real connections I've made in the space.
who knows what that number actually is? there are dozens, or maybe hundreds, of people I've actually interacted with, worked with, supported, or who have supported me throughout my time here. these dozens or hundreds of people are the ones I have come to really call friends. that's the number that matters to me, and I'm very fortunate to say this number is still growing.
now why the fuck am I making this post if I don't care about the 10k? it's because you all do, and if you think it's a reason to celebrate, then I'm gonna celebrate with you!
so thank you to all the friends I've made along the way. whether we met when I was a mod at pudgies, a project manager at doodles, or now as the community lead at story, your time with me means more than this 10k number.
mushy here, looking for my next full-time role in community, comms, marketing, or ops
most recently the head of community at DATA, led through incidents, strategy, and narrative work, plus a bunch more at Doodles and Pudgy Penguins beforehand
if you're hiring, I'd love to chat!

AI is moving beyond the browser and into the real world. The bottleneck? Data.
Today we’re announcing a $15M seed round led by @a16zcrypto to build infra that collects, curates, and licenses high-quality data for physical AI.
Incubated by and built on @StoryProtocol.
huge respect to the @StoryVietnam community
they got the first mushy doxx of @StoryProtocol at their meetup and no one is leaking it 🤝
which subcommunity is planning a meetup next?
