LOVING YOU Loving you is like boarding a tram facing backward, As the entire city flees into the rear-view, I stare straight into the direction you head While longing to draw near, growing more distant You are like the warmth of a teacup, Holding on too tight and it burns the hand, letting go and you turn cold. I frequently lose myself within the curves of your face, Because no matter which map I consult, it feels somehow incomplete. The flaw is certainly not upon your flawless face; Your face is the single continent that cartographers fail to chart I used to love you more on Sundays, With the warmth of freshly baked bread, And a touch of bashfulness, Whenever you cast your eyes down upon the street, I could never bring myself to step on them. Now that you are gone, If I were to write you a letter, I would place only my solitude inside its envelope.
