Zach is a total idiot, and I'm sorry that happened to you.
But let me remind you about the hidden comments. You copy my work 1 to 1. I mentioned it to you as a friend, with no drama, and you ignored me.
Then you posted the same work again, mocking me, and hid the comments when people called it out.
Before I could reply to @zach_yadegari, he deleted his posts, his video, and every comment he left on other people’s posts.
So I’ll speak publicly and directly to you, Zach.
You had no reason to insult me, calling me “butthurt” and then calling my designs “slop.”
@juliali texted me to say sorry for everything while you were throwing insults at me online.
Your company doesn’t stand for anything. After clicking “View hidden comments,” I also saw many comments you had hidden from people calling you out.
You even recorded a video justifying your actions with so much conviction. If you were that sure, why delete it now?
Imagine putting up a hiring post for your company alongside words like “butthurt” and “slop.” That says more about you than anything I could say.
I don’t even want to talk about the offer you were making, because everyone has already said enough.
Everyone saw your true colours. Erasing your posts doesn’t mean your actions will be forgotten or forgiven, not unless you man up and admit where you went wrong instead of insulting others.
As for your insults, I’ll bring to light that my designs are used by companies worth x3 your company. I just don’t feel the need to post about it online for everyone to see.
And I don’t need your compensation. Consider my designs a donation to your company.
There's nothing wrong with taking inspiration. I'm all for it, and I love seeing some designers study my work and put their own spin on it.
But it has to be done right: inspiration doesn't mean copying pixel for pixel.
I've got no issue with @LynelDesign, this is more of a friendly tip. On X these days, it's way too easy to lose your reputation over small things like this.
After being away from social media for a long time, I came back a week ago.
So many friends and customers DMed me asking how I'm doing and if everything's okay.
Honestly, I wasn't expecting that kind of love, I'm really touched.
Glad to be part of such an amazing community!
Don’t start with “what colour is this?” Start with “what surface is this on, and what’s it for?”
Yeah, in light mode you’ll have like 4–6 tokens that are all the same value. Who the fuck cares? Nothing breaks. Nobody’s opening your token file. Users just want the UI to work in both themes.
Name tokens by what they do, not what colour they are.
One of my favorite things to do is collect fonts.
Back in the day I bought almost every Pangram Pangram font.
For the Sort UI marketing site I wanted to go with something unconventional, so I started digging through every type foundry I know. Then I remembered that my favorite designer, Margot Lévêque, has her own type foundry, and that’s where I found exactly what I was looking for. I fell in love with Kalice at first sight.
I’m going to experiment with it and see what happens. No idea how it’ll turn out.
