❝In Detroit, there are no stars.❞
Years after her mother’s murder, Robyn finds an enchanted deck of tarot cards in her home. There’s a story in the artwork—one of dead gods, buried secrets, and the vicious truth of her childhood.
May I introduce, BLOODLIAR. #wipfeast

I particularly don’t like how people act like Black art can’t be critiqued with the defense that “It is limited so we should just be grateful”
I primarily engaged with Black art so that is what I’m going to critique 🤷🏽♀️ plus art has always been meant to have critics

What has Bethany been up to lately? Well, buckle up. I've been dragging this British white lady.
This is the white author who wrote a KKK romance and got to rebrand as a successful kidlit author.
A fact my publisher refused to acknowledge in my email the first time.

Y'all need to stop taking critical consumption of y'all favorite pieces of media personally, especially when the points discussed aren't harmful.
"Some of y'all want Black women's stories to center Black men."
This is just a blatant misrepresentation of my post and I desperately need you to unpack whatever trauma you're assigning here. I would much rather this character didn't exist at all than be important in any way.
I have a very complex relationship with this series but I can never escape how, in the first book, the only Black man in the narrative not her father is nameless and is apart of the waiting staff for the racist order's Selection Gala. He's only there to compliment her dress.

massive rant about something that's bothered me this entire season and this post is giving final straw
Replying to @bellonty
rolin said that armand reasoning for killing larry it’s unknown this season bcs lestat doesn’t know bcs it’s his pov 😭 but also that if you’re confused by armand’s actions the writers are happy about that? Idk

it's actually remarkable how much goodwill and trust they had from predominantly black queer viewers based on s1-s2 and they completely torpedoed that goodwill to chase a more "mainstream" (aka whiter and straighter) general audience that has so far been lukewarm on the season

You all think I'm joking, but I'm dead serious. This season is non-canon to me. I don't care if I sound delusional
white writer's room more evident than ever because this episode was genuinely horrible #tvlspoilers

3 black actors being used to deliver these lines and act out these scenes and not one black writer in the writer’s room mind you #tvlspoilers
