Sometimes the better answer is good software that works well together.

Searching your address on a public block explorer tells that site exactly which funds are yours. MyNode runs your own block explorer locally, so looking up a transaction stays between you and your node.
A node doesn't need your laptop.
Give it its own machine.

Your Lightning node can't watch its channels while it's offline. A watchtower can. If a peer broadcasts an old channel state to grab funds, the tower broadcasts the penalty transaction for you.
MyNode includes a UI for LND's watchtower client and server.
Want to learn Lightning without risking real sats? Testnet can be enabled from MyNode's settings page. Bitcoin, Lightning, Electrum Server, RTL, Thunderhub, Specter, and BTC RPC Explorer work with it, so you can open practice channels before touching mainnet.
Bitcoin is open-source software.
Anyone can inspect it, contribute, and run it.
That's a pretty unusual foundation for a global monetary network.
MyNode v0.3.49 is out.
LNbits v1.6.1, improved peer logic for faster initial blockchain downloads, more control over Tor remote access, HTTPS improvements, better developer tools, bug fixes, and more. Upgrade today!
