Among the many things Grandma Kitty shared with Steph Curry tonight after the game at Barclays, one of my faves is a Mother’s Day card she received from her family. It read: “Happy Mother’s Day mom. Thank you for teaching us to love God, each other, and Steph Curry.” Enjoy!

A pivotal Game 4 as the Valkyries look to even the series and the Dream aim for a 3-1 lead. 👀

keep thinking it’s not that bad and doesn’t affect their team in a larger sense tho. remember all this when y’all complain about your FO not being able to land free agents. they never should’ve downplayed it in that exit presser.
Notes on the Fever and their reputation within the WNBA, per @anniecostabile, @_Brian_Hamilton: - An agent said clients regularly disable social media accounts before and after games against Indiana due to increase in toxic messages they say they received - A different agent said clients have reported being called the N-word at Fever games "multiple times"; Fever say they have received no complaints about racial slurs from fans at home games - Amber Cox plans to reach out to WNBA, WNBPA after Finals to tackle issue of player-fan dynamics

And if the explanation is that Jocyte isn't ready for this... maybe there could've been a little more time spent during the season to try to get her ready?
I know there are smart reasons why it won't happen and there will be people mad at me for suggesting it... but given the Valkyries' struggles vs. Atlanta so far... Could Juste Jocyte get some minutes in Game 4 just to see if she can change the dynamic?

Perception vs. reality The Indiana Fever's pursuit of a WNBA title hinges on the franchise's ability to confront where those two things converge and the environment created as a result. ✍️: AC + @_Brian_Hamilton nytimes.com/athletic/7708662…

No lies told. In all of my years of living, I have NEVER experienced a sporting event like this. You just had to be there man
I called State Farm arena (Phillips) home for 6 yrs- I was in the building when the Hawks pushed the Celtics to 7 gms in 2008 and it was a total madhouse. So trust me when I say… last night was the absolute craziest atmosphere I’ve ever witnessed there in my life. ATL showed tf out.

In the Finals, Gabby Williams on drives to her... Left: 13 drives, 0.42 PPP Right: 11 drives, 1.0 PPP
How did the Atlanta Dream hold Gabby Williams & Tip Hayes to just 11/31 (35.5%) shooting in game 3 of the WNBA Finals? Quick video explainer of one defensive technique, "weak," the Dream used to great effect, especially against Williams, and ways the Valkyries might counter.

The Valkyries were back up to 48.8 feet tonight!
Valkyries' average pick-up distance per round: Wings: 53.1 feet Aces: 52.8 feet Dream: 37.7 feet (!) Pregame, I asked Natalie Nakase if their pick-up points were dictated by the game plan or if they’re more player-led

I asked Coach Smesko pregame about Naz’s contributions on the court that don’t always show up in the stat sheet. He talked about her ability to be able to help Dream on every possession & so much more. Naz would go on to have 15 pts 2 rebs. 3/5 from the three tonight. Post game I followed up and asked his thoughts on her performance ⤵️
