A 'Tiranga March' is underway in Delhi on Friday, 23 October, as protesters gather against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Called by People Against SIR, an alliance of farmers’ organisations, student groups, workers’ unions and civil society organisations, the march is part of the continuing protests demanding Kumar's removal and prosecution, the scrapping of the SIR exercise and the restoration of voting rights to those allegedly excluded from electoral rolls.
Protesters carrying the national flag are marching towards the Election Commission's office near Patel Chowk, following a call to assemble around Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, Gol Dak Khana and Gol Market.
The march comes amid continuing demonstrations under the slogan 'Har Gali Jantar Mantar, Har Gaon Jantar Mantar, Mera Ghar Jantar Mantar'.
