STATEMENT FROM JACK CAMPBELL My family and I want to sincerely thank everyone for the overwhelming amount of love, prayers, and support we’ve received over the past few days. It means more to us than words can express. I’m incredibly encouraged by the progress I’ve made in such a short period of time. I have full movement in my lower body, and I’m continuing to make progress with movement in my upper body. I know there’s still work ahead, but I remain very optimistic. I’m taking things one day at a time, staying positive, and focusing on getting better. My faith in God has never been stronger. I know He has a plan for me, and I trust in that plan. I know there may be challenges ahead, but with my faith, my family, and so many people in my corner, I know we’ll get through this. I especially want to thank the athletic trainers and medical personnel who responded and cared for me on the field. I know those were difficult moments, and I’m incredibly grateful for the professionalism, compassion, and care you showed me. The way you handled everything and looked after me when I needed it most is something I’ll never forget. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. I also can’t say enough about the incredible care I’ve received from the medical team at Henry Ford Hospital and the Detroit Lions medical staff. They’ve been amazing to me and my family throughout this process, and I’m truly grateful for everything they’ve done. To my teammates, coaches, and everyone in the Lions organization, I want you to know how much I love and appreciate you. This team is a family to me, and the way everyone has been there for me means everything. I’m proud to be a Detroit Lion and couldn’t ask to be surrounded by a better group of people. One thing I’ve learned about Detroit is that this city is built on toughness, resilience, and grit. That’s exactly how I’m going to approach this challenge. Please continue to keep me and my family in your prayers. We feel the love, and I can’t thank everyone enough. God is good. My faith is strong. Jack Campbell

It’s right to ask Dems what they’ll do, but there should be loud and persistent questions to Trump and Republicans about what *they’re* going to do differently. The American people are screaming for a different direction, and Trump can’t be treated like some immutable force.
Asked Schumer about calls to "fight" Trump harder, & about impeachment. He said: "Our number one focus has to be producing for the American people in terms of their number one need, the high costs that Trump has imposed on them, and second, to go after the corruption."

In his victory speech, Roy Cooper says he will be an "independent voice" ready to work with anyone. He mentioned ending the Iran war, reducing gas prices and protecting Medicaid expansion.

I feel like we're all owed several years of boring. Just aggressively, unapologetically boring years.

Hi everyone, I don’t normally post things like this, but this is really important to me. My girlfriend’s aunt has unfortunately found out that her stage 4 cancer has returned. I’m asking if you could please take a moment to check out her GoFundMe. If you’re unable to donate, even just sharing or reposting this would mean so much. Any support, big or small, is truly appreciated. Thank you to everyone who takes the time to help gofundme.com/f/standing-with…

Sighle Williams lost both of her parents two days apart, took in the girls they'd been raising, and kept working the same Florida drive-thru window for 37 years. By the end, her regulars at Mac's in Gainesville didn't even have to order. She knew what they wanted before they said a word. She kind of fell into the job. She loved a cooking class at Eastside High, where the kids made lunch for teachers and school board members, and after high school she spent a few years at Church's Chicken. Then she found Mac's on the unemployment office job board, right around when the place opened in 1987. She ended up outlasting the family that founded it. When her parents died in 1998, they had two of her nieces living with them. Sighle took both girls in. Five years later she took in three great-nieces too. Five kids, and she never left that window. She told a local reporter that what got her through 44 years on her feet was loving her customers and keeping good posture. I love that answer. Now here's what got me. While she was standing at that window, McDonald's was spending a fortune trying to build her. Back in 2019 they paid a reported $300 million for an AI company called Dynamic Yield, whose whole job was guessing what you want at the drive-thru. Then they tested an AI order-taker with IBM for two and a half years and pulled the plug in June 2024, after people posted videos of it stacking nuggets onto their order while they kept asking it to stop. Sighle retired four months later. Her boss had something planned for her last day, and so did the whole town. I'm not going to spoil it. Just know that a 21-minute documentary about one burger window won the grand jury prize at Nantucket and best documentary at Aspen, and Netflix bought it. It comes out November 24. Bring tissues.
In ONE LAST ORDER, beloved longtime drive-thru worker Sighle Williams expects a quiet farewell, but her town has other plans. Watch the documentary short on Netflix November 24.
