Good sendoff to my last season in NorCal for a good bit, wanted to keep top 5 but this season was stacked beyond belief so I'll gladly take #6. I go to school in SoCal now and things are getting p busy, so I'm not competing as much rn. Regardless, still coaching and grinding🫡

Ways I like to answer "Any advice?": 1. I point out a part of my layer 1 that they consistently fell for, and ask followup questions 2. I point out scenarios I won that I shouldnt have won, and ask followup questions 3. "What do you feel went wrong, from your POV?"
So hard to get a straight answer 😭

The objective is to get them reflecting and talking, and the way they answer will quickly reveal whether they care but dont know what to ask, or they just want a quick fix that may or may not exist.

So many top level players still think their wins and results are reason enough to warrant getting sponsored, and it rly sucks seeing ppl that wanna go the distance not put in the effort to make their brands valuable to whoever picks them up
It’s been 8 years. Reply with your painful truth about this game and I’ll put the best ones into a video mine is that ultimate is probably the only modern fighting game where you can truly, truly outplay your opponent across all games and still lose a best of five set

competitive ultimate being this endless horribly balanced uphill battle is a deceptively huge part of the appeal of this game the problem solving this game forces you to do is so goddamn cool BECAUSE of how unreasonable it is and how cracked you feel when you pull it off

A few nights ago on stream I did a coaching session with someone on a whim because they asked nicely. Turned out to be a HUGE success with several people asking me how much I charge for sessions... so I decided I'd take an opportunity :) I'm now offering coaching!

Stats culture will always be a part of every competitive venture and idt theres any good in wishing it didn't exist I will however say that no serious competitor should be engaging in stats talk. If you cant show up and win any given bracket at any time, lock in until you can.
random smash frustrations, long ass ramble. been feeling this way for years atp, would appreciate if anyone read and shared what they think. 🫡
