Loool wait i wonder if original op was asking more like the sunday roast culture we have here in the UK - like ik a lot of families meet up on Sunday for dinner but like sunday roast is a specific thing in itself but either way this response is a bit much
& this is why I don’t fucking like you ppl. There is a whole ICONIC MOVIE, called SOUL FOOD, that is centered on the tradition of BLACK AMERICA, SUNDAY DINNER culture. & it started during slavery, on the only day (some) Black Americans were allowed to rest & WORSHIP, where we went to church as a family, & came home turned scraps into a feast for our families. To this very day, Sunday dinners are the backbone of Black American families.
I remember when i saw @jenny_gxo tweet the below a while back and i promise i held that my chest from that day forth

My baby daddy was on his knees begging for that child. Today, he doesn’t do anything for her.
Make sure YOU want to be a mother. Nothing else should make you get a child, especially, a Man saying he wants one.
What kind of timeline am I living in?

Literally what happened to me. Rejected in Aug. They circled back last week. (The recruiter did tell me she didn’t agree with their first decision and she pushed for them to see me again -one more interview round
I finally secured the offer. Long but worth it so hang it there❤️

You guys didn’t even wait a weak to start shitting on it.
Not a single problematic joke ACTUALLY told! Just pure black British humour with Nollywood nostalgia being the drive.

When most men talk about 50/50, they only mean the finances.
The wife is still expected to cook, clean, wash, arrange, take care of the kids, run errands, put the house in order and any other tasks needed for the family to run smoothly.
A friend of mine was crashing out recently because of her husband.
Both of them work remotely, but my girl does the cooking, cleaning, prepares the kids for school, takes them to school, does the laundry, and still contributes 50% to the household expenses.
The last time she visited my place, she looked so exhausted that she slept for hours before leaving. That was how tired she was.
After listening to everything, I gave her one simple piece of advice: Since your husband wants a wife who does all these things, stop contributing to the household expenses. Let him account for every single thing, from seasoning cubes to the children's snacks. Use your money to take care of yourself.
She agreed and took my advice seriously.
Now, her husband wants to renegotiate. 😂
Some of you men are extremely wicked. Because you're the man, you think your wife should carry the weight of the home physically, mentally, and financially, while you act as though you're doing her a favour.
How can two people work remotely, yet one person is expected to do almost everything at home and still split the bills 50/50?

This is the problem with the UK. Because someone earns a lot more than you, you have no problem with them being taxed in exorbitant and economically distortionary ways.
Exorbitant tax rates are economically harmful but it’s ok as long as it makes you feel better.

If you don’t want a baby, act like it. We too old and have to be moving like babies are always oopsies.
Stop having unprotected sex, stop having sex, get a vasectomy.
You can’t control nothing but your seed. Once that makes a baby it’s out of your hands.
