No one really wants people to recover they just like watching people spiral until they kill themselves but they'll never admit it

Y como gran acto de amor hacia mi misma voy a seguir siendo igual de cariñosa y alegre a pesar de la gente que me ha hecho daño e intentar cada día seguir dando afecto aunque no lo reciba de vuelta porque eso me hace ser yo

Telling you that your fears are correct. That everyone will, infact, leave you. That you are the horrible person you already believe you are. I really hope that OP is safe wherever they are and that they didn't actually succeed in their attempt. We need people to be better...3/3

9. With BPD people can believe some wildly untrue things. Let them apologize for the things they say. Let them hold themselves accountable without making them feel guilty or broken. Let them grow.

Saying the wolves words arent real is invalidating. Because no matter what you say, we still hear them. If you love someone with bpd you need to make sure your voice is heard over the wolves. And that can be tricky.

7. Remember that BpD is often caused by and complicated by trauma. So try your best not to trigger those specific traumas.
8. I often describe having bpd as having a bunch of wolves in your brain. All are howling, telling you to run, telling you to lash out in fear. A friend

5. Understand that the things they say in the moment may or may not be how they really feel. I myself make up some pretty delusional things in that state.
6. If you notice somethings off, asking and being willing to listen goes a long way based on my own experiences.

4. Punishing through ignoring is the worst thing you can do. It feels like literal torture to a person with bpd. However, setting a boundary and saying " i need a break for an hour" or " i need us to discuss this therapy together" is a good way to step back.

3. When in a crisis, validate their feelings without validating their delusion. Do not focus on logic or facts until theyre calm. Focus on " it must feel so Isolating to feel that way" rather than "yeah nobody wants to talk to you because youre prone to attachment issues"

2. When dealing with someone in a crisis do not hesitate to call 988. People do not realize they are also there to help YOU help a friend. They will know what to do. Ive called on furries 4 times this year.

These are just my opinions based on having BPD. Not a dr. Just old.
1. Know what you can handle and be honest. Dont tell people youll always be there and then ignore. Youre validating their delusion that everyone will abandon them. Keep a healthy distance.

Based on the replies here, it seems people need some education. Hi. I have bpd complicated by cPTSD and potentially OCD. This person is spiraling, and although it is not the responsibility of their friends to fix them- I want to talk about how you can help 🧵
