It will be intriguing to see if this affects the relationship between @blueorigin and @ulalaunch. Same with @LockheedMartin and HLS National Team.

Thus yote Astra. Congratulations @Astra on your success!

Yes.
A lot of people on space Twitter have been hinting it, but I’m going to come out and say it: stop the BS, Aevum. That’s a model. You don’t have $1B in contracts. Investors get duped enough in our industry, don’t ruin it for the rest of us.

Not sure how we aren’t blocked yet, since they seem to block everyone who bothers to science at them. Let’s just give this a try then: this is stupid and will not work and were really not sure how they’ve convinced themselves or anyone else otherwise

The rocket equation is tyrannical and therefore best ignored completely.

What’s the performance and lifetime of this magic propulsion system? We’d assume if they had results we’d see more than just PowerPoint
The cornerstone of Momentus' business is Microwave Electrothermal water propulsion technology, used for its planned fleet of transfer vehicles: cnbc.com/2020/10/07/momentus…

That’s cute, but on a price/kg basis its not revolutionary. And maybe fly it and then talk. And then explain your production economics and how they jive with California wages—how many ppl are you? How sustainable is that? The community has diminishing patience for bull.

I don't give a fuck what Elon is doing with starship; give this guy a billion dollars and see what happens.
The rockets don't always work, but at least they look cool!

It is exciting to watch new space companies announce purchasing things, not selling them. It is similarly amusing to watch them advertise basic competence. “We are pleased to announce we have installed esd mats,” “we are excited by the new capability to properly test things” etc

The forward march of time is relentless. As dependent as it is on gravity and reference frame, it progresses in but one direction. That much is as certain as anything in this universe.

If you can’t control your own time, then what can you control?

More & more people are noting this, and its concerning
Worth noting: SpaceX has performed nine orbital launches so far in 2020. Seven have been for Starlink, generating no revenue beyond the modest amount for the three SkySats on this launch. (The other two were for NASA.) SpaceX isn’t making money on launch right now.

Disappointing for sure, but well done for all involved for getting to this point, and glad the crew is safe. Looking forward to the next attempt.
