When women and youth entrepreneurs grow their businesses, they can create jobs and provide goods and services their communities need. Our partnership with @SwissDevCoop (SDC) aims to expand access to finance that makes this growth possible. #SouthSudan #FinancialInclusion

Landed in #Bamako. Officer checks my 🇷🇼passport. I say I’ll get a visa on arrival. She objects, calls the supervisor. Me laughing inside: “Afande amemaliza kazi.” Supervisor walks in, open my pp (just the first page), smiles: “Comment va notre président ? Bienvenue au Mali.” 🇲🇱😉

Members of the Rwandan Community in South Sudan, alongside representatives from the international community, gathered to commemorate the 32nd anniversary of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. The event, held on April 7, 2026, served as a solemn occasion to honor the victims and reflect on the enduring lessons of this tragic chapter in history. In Juba, the commemoration took place at the UN Tomping Compound, bringing together Rwandan peacekeepers serving under the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), UN officials, representatives of the Government of South Sudan, and various UN agencies. The gathering provided a platform for collective remembrance and a renewed commitment to ensuring that such atrocities never happen again. tinyurl.com/z42fjbu5 ========================== Ingabo z'u Rwanda ziri mu butumwa bw' amahoro n'Abanyarwanda baba muri Sudani y’Epfo, bafatanyije n’abahagarariye Umuryango mpuzamahanga, bateraniye hamwe mu gikorwa cyo kwibuka ku nshuro ya 32 Jenoside yakorewe Abatutsi mu 1994. On the International Day of Reflection on the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi in Rwanda, we mourn the victims & pay tribute to the survivors. We must learn from past failures & protect the living — by rejecting hatred, inflammatory rhetoric & incitement to violence.

As many NGOs keep offering aid year in year out, one organization is doing things differently in South Sudan. Inkomoko South Sudan (@InkomokoSSD) is touching lives across the country through empowering entrepreneurs granting loans instead of aid. Led by a Rwandan national Mr. William Ngabonziza (@ngabowilly) as a Country Director, Inkomoko is teaching citizens to catch fish instead of giving them fish everyday. South Sudan reminds one of the East African countries with exceptional amount of fish from the Nile, Sudd wetlands and the biggest exporter of fish to DRC, Chad, CAR, Kenya and Uganda.

During a trip to South Sudan, war photographer Jan Grarup met a young boy wearing a badly damaged AC Milan jersey 🇸🇸 The photographer, a fan of AC Milan, then offered the kid to exchange his damaged jersey for a new one. The kid accepted and the photographer then gave the damaged jersey to AC Milan who decided to place it in their museum and collaborate with UNICEF by making a huge donation and launching projects to help children in South Sudan. 👏 Respect 🙏❤️
