Beyond the miles covered and the energy on the track, today was a reminder of what we can achieve when we come together for something bigger than ourselves. Because sometimes, the most meaningful steps we take are the ones that help change someone else's life. #NICInsuranceUganda #GISUMarathon2026 #JCRCCares #EveryStepSaveALife 2/2

Africa’s ambition to build a more integrated and connected economy is increasingly being shaped by digital transformation. As businesses trade across borders, customers access services through digital platforms and markets become more interconnected, the question is no longer simply how we connect Africa digitally but how we create the confidence and resilience needed for that connectivity to translate into sustainable economic growth. This was at the heart of remarks delivered by Carolyne Tayebwa, General Manager. Marketing and Distribution, NIC General Insurance Uganda, at the 9th KTA Annual Symposium, held from 22–23 October 2026 at Marriott Hotel, Kampala As businesses increasingly operate across borders, digital platforms may make it easier to find customers, facilitate payments, and access new markets. But behind every transaction are risks: risks to goods in transit, property, vehicles, operations, and, ultimately, the people who drive these businesses. This is where insurance becomes more than a policy. It becomes part of the infrastructure that gives businesses the confidence to trade, invest, expand, and recover when unexpected events occur. The conversation also highlighted the need for insurance to evolve with the customer. Digital transformation presents an opportunity to make insurance more accessible, simplify processes and improve engagement, while ensuring that technology is matched by trust, quality, responsible data management and human expertise. For NIC Insurance, the future of insurance is therefore closely connected to the future of Africa’s economy, protecting businesses as they pursue new opportunities and securing the people and families behind them. Building a truly integrated African market will require collaboration across government, business, technology, finance, regulation and the insurance industry. As Africa connects, trades and grows, protection must move with progress and that protection is Insurance. #NICInsuranceUganda #KTASymposium #ATIS2026

Africa’s digital economy is opening new doors for businesses to reach customers across borders. But as online trade grows, one important question remains: how do we build the trust that allows buyers and sellers to do business with confidence, even when they are miles apart? Insurance has a role to play in answering that question, from strengthening consumer protection to providing financial assurance when cross-border transactions go wrong. Carolyn Tayebwa, our General Manager, Marketing & Distribution at NIC General Insurance, will be a guest speaker at the 9th KTA Annual Africa Technology and Intellectual Property Symposium, taking place at Kampala Marriott Hotel. Speaking on “Insuring Africa’s Digital Single Market: The Role of Insurance in Enabling Cross-Border Trade and Regional Integration,” she will explore how insurance can help build trust in digital commerce and support greater regional trade and integration. As Africa works towards a more connected digital future, NIC Insurance recognizes the importance of solutions that enable businesses to trade with confidence and consumers to transact with peace of mind. #NICInsuranceUganda #KTASymposium #ATIS2026

Every step towards better healthcare brings hope to someone who needs it. Yesterday, NIC Insurance Uganda, represented by Ms. Carolyne Tayebwa, General Manager, Marketing & Distribution at NIC General Insurance, handed over a cheque of UGX 3,000,000 to the @jcrc_official1 in support of the JCRC-GISU Marathon 2026. Speaking at the handover, Ms. Tayebwa noted: “At NIC, we believe our responsibility goes beyond providing insurance solutions. It is also about supporting initiatives that make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. We are proud to stand with JCRC in this effort to bring life-saving treatment closer to Ugandans and give more families hope for the future.” Taking place on 24th October 2026 at Galaxy International School Uganda, the marathon aims to raise funds towards establishing Uganda’s first Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Centre at JCRC. The centre will help reduce the financial burden on families seeking specialised treatment abroad while strengthening local expertise in advanced medical care. Ms. Tayebwa added: “We commend JCRC for championing this important cause. Every contribution, every step, and every partnership brings us closer to a future where patients can access the care they need closer to home. We encourage everyone to be part of this journey because, together, we can make a difference.” At NIC, we remain committed to supporting partnerships and initiatives that protect lives, strengthen communities, and create lasting impact. #NICInsuranceUganda #GISUMarathon2026 #EveryStepSaveALife #JCRCCares
