That's why George Lucas selected an incompetent DEI Girlboss as his heir, Kathleen Kennedy. George Lucas repeated all the mistakes of the Jedi which destroyed the Republic, and he was surprised when he handed control over his business empire to an evil Sith Lord (Disney) and they destroyed it from within. But ultimately this happened because George Lucas spent the previous 30 years refusing to mentor a young man who could eventually take his place. George Lucas had access to every creative young man in America and in the world, he could've chosen any artist or filmmaker in the world to continue his aesthetic vision. He made an active and explicit choice to refuse to train an heir, to refuse to develop anyone with his same talent and potential, to surround himself with mediocre sycophants and to suppress the ability of more creative men who he kept permanently in a subordinate position.
George Lucas was created by the friendship and mentorship of Francis Ford Coppola, the director of The Godfather.
George Lucas could've chosen another creative young man to continue this cinematic tradition, and instead he made a deliberate choice to pick a DEI woman who ruined everything. That's his legacy.

Les socialistes espèrent récupérer 10 MILLIARDS D'EUROS par an grâce à cette mesure.
Officiellement, ce sont les entreprises qui paieront. Mais rien ne garantit qu'elles ne répercuteront pas ce coût sur les abonnements des consommateurs.

The most interesting character in all the Star Wars films is still Darth Vader in episode IV.
He's not an omnipotent super bad guy and he's not in charge. He is apparently on the "leash" of Grand Moff Tarkin.
He's a mysterious figure on a mission of his own. He follows an ancient religion that no one believes in anymore but is actually real. He shuns technology in favour of faith - "You may be impressed with this technological terror you've created, but it is insignificant compared to the power of the Force."
There are very few historical parallels for this kind of character. It would be like a Knight Templar, who is also a living saint with visible stigmata, working as an advisor for one of Hitler's Generals and being tasked with hunting down the French Resistance in North Africa.
He is the one character in the whole film that doesn't fit neatly into a simple archetype. You want to know more about him.
I will also admit that he is portrayed very well in Rogue One - you barely see him until the end where he enters the smoke with his light sabre. Very cool.
But it will be hard to capture the mystique of the original character.
