On train this evening after picking son up from table tennis, bunch of lads laughing & trying to get off the train to get attention of driver. Doors shut so knocking on his cab door. No response.
Asked them what was up & lad tells me they’re going to London but they’d found this bag on train seat & wanted to hand it in. They hadn’t looked in it, just wanted to do the right thing.
We were getting off next stop, so I offered to take it to driver in his cab. Looked in bag, laptop, handbag, cards, more things. You name it, a persons whole life in this bag..
I went & told the lads “well done!” & was met by five of the biggest smiles you could see. “Make sure they get it back”. A bit of faith in young men restored. My lad really keen we get hold of the driver. More faith restored.
Talked to him the cab, handed it in, he told me the procedure & what would happen.
I’d taken the lady’s details but there’s no phone number. Contacted my bank as she was also a member to pass a message on. Can’t do that. Data protection. Tried the police 101. Impossible.
Linked In. Yes! Found her & messaged. Hopefully she’ll see it soon. Will update but so impressed with those lads & the reaction of my son. More of this!

Today in 1969, The Beatles performed their legendary rooftop concert on the roof of the Apple Corps building in London. They played for 42 minutes before the police arrived and ordered them to reduce the volume. It was John, Paul, George, and Ringo's final public performance as “The Beatles".

🚨The special needs system is on the brink of collapse. The government's spending watchdog will publish its own likely damning investigation this week
But we’ve been chronicling the collapse for years. And I just want to set out how seriously bad things are … (mega 🧵)

My piece in today's Mail - the public mood on the NHS has changed. People don't want endless consultations, they want fundamental reform.
We should be seeking out, and copying, the most effective health systems on the planet.
Patients must come first, not an untouchable NHS.

3/3 We've highlighted your concerns to our marketing team for future consideration. As a valued customer, I regret to hear you're now discouraged from shopping with us. I hope you may reconsider as we'd love to see you in our store some time in the future. Best wishes. ^Paul

2/3 The magazine article advertises you can find 'a range' from £10 for 4, not quoting a price for the Le Creuset 'range' specifically. Le Creuset ramekins currently retail for £15 each. ANYDAY ramekins are £10 for 4.

1/3 I'm sorry you remain disappointed, Nigel. Following further review, I note that Le Creuset ramekins are included in the illustration however, the narrative discusses 'ramekins' and isn't specific to a certain brand.

Wes Streeting calls you and asks for *tangible* ideas he can implement to help NHS improve performance. But there's no extra money for big spending. What's your one idea? #FantasyNHS
I'll start - staff passports across regions to free up pointless mandatory training time.

A group of students escaped the pre-exam stress last month with a wholesome farm getaway to be surrounded by nature's cutest inhabitants. They got the chance to feed animals, picnic in woodlands and roast marshmallows all thanks to Friends of The University of Buckingham 🐑🚜🐔

If you came from Mars, or merely from France or Germany, you might think that the most important issue in the coming election here would be Brexit, which has dominated UK politics and the economy since 2016. It’ll be interesting to see how much attention it gets in the campaign.
