“None of the gains we saw came from a self-driving lab.” Two friends matched what Dow, Honeywell and Henkel have sold for 20+ years, in 3 months, from a garage lab in Oakland. By their own tests. New Deeptech Decoded episode with @advaith_sridhar on why chips are hitting a heat wall and what @discoveredmat is doing about it. Check it out!

Jensen closed his GTC Berlin 2026 keynote with this Hermes Agent demo as the finale. He introduced it by saying the way to build an agent is to ask an agent to build it for you, so he installed and set up a customized Hermes in one prompt. Then he used Hermes, running on @nvidia RTX Spark, to create a simulated training environment for the @huggingface Microduck. Hermes planned an obstacle course with Nemotron and had GPT-6 Astra build it using FreeCAD, Omniverse libraries, Blender, Newton, and Isaac Lab. Hermes trained thousands of simulated ducks on that course until the validated policy was ready to run on the real robot in the physical world. At Nous, we believe open source is a practical tool as much as a philosophical ideal. It gives users the ability to build powerful, complex workflows chaining numerous local+cloud models, devices, and tools themselves instead of waiting for a company to enable them.

Objections?
engineers used to hate context switching and now that's all engineering is

Why not? If it works.. Kyrie Eleison.
I normally listen to electronic music with few or repeating lyrics when needing to focus, but I've found that a looping Gregorian chant also does the trick! open.spotify.com/track/0xUL1…

Just delivered a product in SF before we've even officially announced it. Always great to work with customers who are pushing the boundaries with us. The next couple of months could be wild. Foundation models are advancing fast, and I think we're about to see some mind-blowing shifts across the robotics industry. What a time to build.

Taste in problems. Something you develop only by doing. Not by reading about it. Not by watching over someone’s shoulder, either. Only in the arena: by doing, failing and getting back up to fail better.
One very important thing that even the smartest people seem to have to learn from experience is taste in problems. There are juicy problems that tend to lead to interesting discoveries, and nasty problems that tend not to.

Two months ago I spend 4 days on planes to get this shot of Alpha Centauri (the target of @FermiExplorer) in the Milky Way. This was taken in the Atacama Desert, Chile, the best place in the world to see the Milky Way, on the best day of the year to see it. It was taken by astrophotographer, Alexis Trigo, with a 20-second exposure, July 14th, 2026. The star I’m pointing to is Alpha Centauri and, in 3 years, we will launch the first spacecraft to travel there! 🚀

New episode with @mat_milenovic, co-founder and ceo of @Hop_Aero. They are building rockets that deliver cargo anywhere on Earth in minutes, including battlefields. A brilliant human being and founder. Enjoyed every second of it. youtu.be/QA14lpyDOuE?si=S7cX…

Michelle Obama has a great line for this: when they go low, we go high.
Founders, don’t get pissed off if a VC that politely passes on you, then subtly trash talks you to other VCs. A VC that politely passed on us a while ago, recently told another VC (who I was pitching) that they thought I was a grifter. Grifter is about the most offensive thing a VC can call a founder, in my mind, while still being conveniently vague. And it’s not the first time I’ve seen this pattern. The point of this post is that I used to get offended by VCs that politely passed on us, then covertly trash talking us. But the more I’ve thought about it, the more I realized how inevitable it is. It’s heavily in the interest of the VC that passes (especially early/single-stage VCs and junior VCs, which this one was), for everyone else to also pass, since they’ll look stupid, or worse, if that ends up being a bad decision. “Show me the incentive, and I’ll show you the outcome.” As Charlie Munger used to say. In this case the incentive is very clear, and so the outcome is somewhat unavoidable. So why shouldn’t founders be pissed off about it? Because fortunately most VCs, especially the ones with more experience, are smart enough to understand this dynamic, and to form their own opinions regardless 🙏👌

I'm super excited to share that we have raised $250M at a $2.3B valuation to build a LOT more AI compute capacity in orbit 🚀 Thanks so much to our supporters, including Manhattan West, who led the round, and new investors, @NVIDIA, @Cisco_Invests, @CedarCapital, Goanna Capital, and @Standard_Cap, as well as continued investment from existing backers @Benchmark, @EQTVentures, @Soma_Capital, @NFX, @SevenSevenSix, and others. Next week, @Starcloud_ will move into a new 100,000 square ft facility that will enable us to ramp up our production rate to 100 satellites/week. This is just the beginning! @EzraFeilden, @AdiOltean🏃🏻‍➡️🏃🏻‍➡️🏃🏻‍➡️

Introducing Rook by @Hop_Aero (YC S26): an autonomous hypersonic cargo rocket that delivers 550 lbs up to 450 miles in ~15 minutes. It launches from a standard 40-foot shipping container and lands on unprepared surfaces—no runways or fixed infrastructure required.

Today, we’re launching Meteoric (YC S26). Our drones clear clouds over solar farms to increase their annual output by 10-30% without using any chemicals. Ultimate target: weaken severe storms and hurricanes. meteoric.earth
