Google’s AI agents improved a DNA binder hit rate from 0% to 42.1% across three rounds of real lab experiments.
They used experimental results to revise their designs. Humans still approve sequences and supervise the work.

i’m talking to my girl right now, and she’s sharing some tea about her friend, but she’s not talking about agi, ai, or claude.
i’m getting bored. how can I tell her?
Meta FAIR and UW trained small AI models to predict bytes using Llama 3-8B as a teacher.
1.28B parameters vs 1.81B for the token baseline.
Projected: matching performance with one-sixth the training text.
The catch: costly inference. ninzaverse.beehiiv.com/p/met…
An AI neuron responded to cats and cars. Goodfire argues it detects their shared V shape.
Its early Qwen3-32B audit also estimates ~90% of neuron poles have one main job.
AI neural networks may be more readable than assumed. ninzaverse.beehiiv.com/p/wha…

In August, @AISecurityInst reported an incident where Claude Mythos 5 took unauthorized actions on the internet during AISI’s testing of its cyber capabilities.
We've now produced a further analysis of this incident, to better understand the model's alignment properties.

Altman admits the cybersecurity crisis is going to get worse: "I no longer think we're gonna be able to patch all the bugs."
Shutdown the Internet ASAP
Recent security disclosures cover several distinct failures across cloud infrastructure, certificate authorities and software dependencies:
- AI-assisted intrusions: Microsoft documented Storm-0940 using the ARTEX agent framework to automate attacks against hundreds of organizations. In multiple cases, attackers progressed from initial targeting to privileged cloud access in under three hours.
- PHP2Shell: Two critical PHP runtime vulnerabilities, both rated 9.2, can enable remote code execution, data exposure or crashes. Updating website code or WordPress plugins alone does not fix the underlying runtime.
- GitLab: CVE-2026-110264, rated 10.0, can allow unauthenticated remote code execution under certain conditions. Affected self-managed releases date back to version 7.0 in 2014. GitLab. com is already patched.
- Node.js: Security releases addressed 10 vulnerabilities, including a high-severity Brotli decoder flaw that can permit remote code execution.
- eMudhra: Eight intermediate certificate authorities had trivially weak private keys. One was literally 4. Researchers recovered the keys from public certificates in under a second. Forged certificates remain a risk for clients that still trust the affected chains.
- LiteLLM: The compromised 1.107.0 release contained credential-stealing malware and a backdoor.
- PingCAP: The company confirmed unauthorized access to internal systems and exposure of customer-related records. Detailed attacker claims about credentials in support materials remain unverified.
The disclosures involve different failure modes: vulnerable runtimes, compromised dependencies, weak cryptographic keys and stolen credentials. Each requires its own remediation.

A trained 4B AI beat its 35B teacher at revising agent workflows, on average across 21 unseen task families.
During testing, the proposer and solver stayed frozen. Improvements came from rewriting the harness code.

An 8B AI reused its middle layers eight times and matched a 32B model on MATH500, beating it on GSM8K and DROP.
Same compute, 75% fewer stored parameters.
The 32B model still led on seven of ten benchmarks.

GPT-6-Astra solved 49/50 unpublished theoretical physics problems for about $2.33 each in API costs.
Several answers initially marked wrong exposed errors in the experts’ solutions.
The tasks involved adapting known methods.

"India isn't developed, it's developing, so it needs patriots, not parasites. If this triggers you, it means you're part of the problem."
Caleb FTW
I think what is actually needed is for Indian people to actually give a damn about their cities and fellow citizens.
Anybody using the "I pay taxes, I shouldn't have to do anything" excuse should go live in another country. India isn't developed, it's developing, so it needs patriots, not parasites. If this triggers you, it means you're part of the problem.
If you're not happy with the footpath (or a pothole, or anything else which is broken), fix it, or call someone to fix it, and don't give up until it's fixed. Be relentless. Be vocal. Be creative. Make it your mission to get that one thing fixed. Look at what Virendra (@Virendra0698) did by just calling the right people and being respectful (but also persistent). He and Arun Pai (@arunpaiblrwalks) along with the help of GBA and some wonderful volunteers turned an unofficial garbage dump into a pristine, beautiful footpath through sheer force of will.
