Thank you for everything @tim_cook, you've saved my life and millions more! Below is an open letter I sent you, that I also wanted to share with the world: it explains why I'll personally forever be grateful to you. Dear Tim, You once told us the world needs us in the arena. For 15 years, you’ve fought in that arena. As you step away to the sidelines today, just remember the immense impact you had while you were in it. We've never met, but I wanted to send you a note to say thank you. Why? For many reasons, but chiefly for the Apple Watch. In 20 years of covering technology, this is the product that will forever resonate with me as truly game-changing in ways other consumer technology products cannot be. 6 years ago, I had a heart attack after Thanksgiving, and the Apple Watch saved my life several times, and then proved to be an incredibly powerful companion in getting me back to good health. I've often said to people that Apple has done many great things, but the greatest is the Apple Watch. As you said, it's the biggest impact Apple has ever had on humanity, and the millions of lives saved would not have been possible with any other product. The current focus on health, both as an industry and as humanity, would also not have been possible without the industry you and your team kickstarted, and I will forever be grateful that you chose to bring this product to market. 40 years from now, when I'm hopefully still alive, I'll still forever be an Apple Watch fan. Money comes and goes, market cap fluctuates, and political winds blow in multiple directions, but this is a legacy that no one can ever deny. Congratulations on 15 incredible years you deserve to be lauded for, and for doing what few thought possible: picking up the mantle from Steve Jobs and leading Apple from strength to strength. I wish you the best in your new role. Thank you again! If there's ever a doubt that it was worth everything, I hope this email and the many others remind you of just how many lives you helped save.
Sending lots of love to the Apple community on my last day as CEO. My title changes tomorrow, but the love I have for the Apple community never will. Thank you for being a constant source of inspiration. My gratitude is endless, and I’m excited for the next chapter!

Manchester United’s decline has a clear fix: a David Beckham-led consortium buys out the Glazers. Inter Miami’s transformation proves they can turn a club around. As a United legend, Beckham would restore the bond with the fans that the Glazer ownership has broken.

This is sage advice: thermal paste dries out over time. Don't use liquid metal, either; that stuff is corrosive, even if it does have better performance.
PSA: if you are stretching your PC out a few more years don’t forget to redo your thermal paste on your CPU.

Anyone who thinks the iPhone Duo is a failure - as some suggest in these comments- is stupid and doesn’t understand the industry. Duo has locked in customers for the next decade, even though it’s not the best doable in the world.

iPad Mini users are extremely loyal and with Duo now on the market they are getting apps that will feel more custom than in the past. The updates are also a good reminder that iPad Mini is a size choice not a price one
It’s going to be an exciting week, and it starts with our all-new iPad mini. Thinner and lighter than ever, with an OLED display, water and dust resistance, better audio, powered by A20 Pro… it’s the biggest update ever to iPad mini!

Live actions are still broken on the Apple iPhone 18 Pro. I’m not in seat 2. I’m in 20. I think cramming more than two things into live actions is a bad idea. It’s too much. I know it’s probably a dev issue for these third-party apps, but it’s still an issue.

I have a theory… 👀 Apple made the new iPad mini more expensive to make choosing between an iPhone Duo and an iPhone 18 Pro + iPad mini MUCH harder. iPhone Duo: $2,000 iPhone 18 Pro: $1,100 iPad mini (Cellular): $849 Total: $1,949 JUST A $51 DIFFERENCE 🤯 Coincidence? I think not. 😂

I’m convinced we’ll eventually enter the realm of where customers pick services with their support for duo and other unique form factors or technology products in mind. Hard to justify a service that hasn’t been optimized, especially as lots more become optimized for it
I just keep refreshing the app updates page in the duo waiting for more apps I use to appear 😭

I genuinely don't understand how anyone can question Bruno Fernandes' commitment to Manchester United after everything he's done for this club. I love Bruno, so obviously I'm going to defend him, but this isn't even about being a fan. What more do people expect from the guy? When INEOS decided they weren't taking the wider staff to the FA Cup final because they wanted to cut costs, Bruno offered to pay for their tickets and hospitality himself. Just think about that for a minute. A club as big as Manchester United couldn't be bothered to pay for its own staff, and the captain had to step in with his own money. And this is the same guy who constantly gives his teammates credit in interviews instead of making everything about himself. Yet somehow, he's still the one whose loyalty people want to question. He could have left in 2024. He could have left in 2025. He's had opportunities to leave in 2026 as well. Saudi clubs were reportedly offering him an absurd amount of money, and nobody would have blamed him if he'd decided he'd had enough. He's still playing at an elite level. He could have gone somewhere else, won trophies and stopped wasting his best years trying to drag United back to where we belong. But he stayed. He stayed because he wanted to win with Manchester United. And honestly, I don't know how much clearer he can make his intentions. This club has given him plenty of reasons to walk away, but somehow people still expect him to keep proving that he wants to be here. What really pisses me off is that the moment he starts questioning the people running the club, suddenly he's the problem. Why? Because he's finally saying what so many of us have been saying for years? We've wasted ridiculous amounts of money on players who haven't worked out, changed managers, changed plans and started rebuilding all over again, and we're somehow still having the same conversations about investment and ambition. At what point do the people making these decisions actually take responsibility? Every time things go wrong, there's another excuse, another promise and another fresh start. Meanwhile, Bruno is still out there trying to make something happen on the pitch. And we're supposed to be angry with him for having had enough of the nonsense? And don't even get me started on the Rooney, Scholes and Giggs comparisons. They stayed because we were competing for the biggest trophies every single season. We were winning leagues, challenging for the Champions League and giving our best players every reason to stay. Bruno hasn't had that. He's spent years at a club that keeps finding new ways to shoot itself in the foot. Do people genuinely think Rooney, Scholes or Giggs would look at United today and see the same club they played for? Or that a top player joining us now wouldn't start questioning his future after a couple of years of this? We've fallen so far behind that we're now arguing about whether our own captain is loyal enough, instead of asking why the club keeps failing him. Look, Bruno isn't perfect. He has bad games, he gets frustrated and he can lose his head sometimes. I'm not going to pretend otherwise just because I'm a fan. But I'll defend him every single time someone tries to make him the villain for wanting this club to be better. He's turned down opportunities to leave, continued to give everything on the pitch and stuck around when he could quite easily have walked away. What have the people running this club done to deserve that loyalty from him? Bruno has done his bit. He's done more than his bit, actually. I'm tired of watching people question his commitment while giving the people responsible for this mess yet another chance to get away with it. If Bruno Fernandes has to keep proving he loves Manchester United, what the hell are the people running Manchester United doing to prove they deserve him?

Manchester United Football Club. A football club only works when the sum of its parts is greater than any one human. At Manchester United that worked ruthlessly well for 20 years. You can then trace when the rot started. 1. Calling Moyes "Everton". Big time players started to call the shots. That Moyes wasn't up to it is irelevant, the sum of the parts mantra was broken. 2. Ronaldo return. Always about 1 player in pressers, never about the team. 3. The piano playing decadence of Alexis reveal. City announce Haaland in a bland statement. United went full Liberace to "prove" how big they were. Clubs on top don't need to prove anything. They just do. 4. Numerous managers, sporting directors, organisational changes. Villa gave Emery the key to Villa Park and Bodymoor Health and said "you're the expert, we'll bring in your guys". 90% worked, 10% didn't. The 10% exited without fuss. United? Every name is a part of the circus. 5. Leaks. If you're supposed to be the worlds biggest club, you don't leak to Partridge type YouTubers or local journos. Chose players and their character carefully. 6. Fergie. Liverpool ruthlessly moved Shankly well away from Anfield, to the dismay of many. Romantics rightly said " WTF, it's him who started this!". Liverpool board and Boot Room said, "Move him out, he's only ever going to be a distraction". Proved true. The cameras panning to Fergie every game did United no favours. Why? Nobody could compete with that man. 7. Owners. When you allow owners in who only want to use you as collateral ( Hi Mr Big Banker, we own Man United so we're good for the fucking huge loan we want for something else) in a transaction, you're fucked. A lesson that even the biggest clubs are prone to chasing the dollar from anyone and everyone. Time to protect all of our clubs from rogue ownership. 8. Four four fucking two. Attack attack attack. Sometimes, in order to find yourself you need to go back to your roots. United play attacking, swaggering football. Buy two great wide men. Two mobile and aggressive midfielders. One ball playing, one aggressive central defender. Two fullbacks who only defend and a keeper who commands his box. Basics. United do that and even now all the people, characters, noise can be boiled down to basics that at first grind out badic results as the mess above gets dealt with. Basics. Painfully simple ones. Manchester United Football Club are one of the world's biggest acting like a lost army after a great General left the batallion. Find your General , on the pitch, in the dugout, at the head of the company, then green shoots will follow. Sometimes, simplicity is everything and complexity is ruinous. The club believed its own hype instead of following its own DNA.

The solution to Manchester United is simple. If the management truly wants a rebuild, it should openly back Carrick. Then you will see all these overfed babies called players adjust or leave. After Arsène Wenger left Arsenal, the coaches who came afterwards failed to deliver the desired results until the management decided to rebuild and openly back Arteta. Özil, Lacazette, Aubameyang, Leno, Xhaka, and many other big stars either left or were moved on as the club rebuilt. The instruction was clear. If you are not playing at the level the coach expects, you are out. When Arsenal appointed Mikel Arteta in December 2019, the club finished 8th, 8th, and 5th in his first three Premier League seasons before qualifying for the Champions League. Some fans wanted Arteta out, while others believed in him and said, "We trust the process." You don't achieve quick success during a rebuilding phase. It's obvious that some players want Carrick out, and the management needs to make it clear to them that Carrick is not going anywhere, regardless of how bad the results get. The players need to understand that their job is to play at the highest level and deliver results. Any player who fails to perform at that level should be put up for sale, regardless of their name or how much they earn. I'm not happy seeing Manchester United this way even as rival fan. But the truth remains, when you're rebuilding most times it feels like it's not working but you'll need to be patient. You cannot say you are rebuilding a team, then sack the manager every time results don't go your way. At this point, the players must also be held accountable. You cannot keep changing managers while the same players continue to underperform. If the club's management trusts Carrick enough to appoint him, it should give him the backing to do his job. Let the players know that nobody is bigger than the club. If you're rebuilding, you'll suffer until things gets better.

Just got several alarming, scary, and ridiculous notifications from Google. Apparently, I used Gemini in some way that violates Google policies, and if I do it again, I may lose access to unspecified services and content. At the time of the notifications, I was driving and not using Gemini at all, to my knowledge. What did I do? I have no idea, the email doesn't specify any details. This is scary enough for me to stop using Gemini permanently. Risking my whole account because some AI thinks some query is not kosher for whatever imaginary reason is not worth it. "Your account has been used in a way that violates Google's policies It looks like a Google service has been used in a way that violates Google's policies. I see striking similarities between @manutd supporters and @Arsenal supporters when they faced real trouble. The difference? They had competent owners with a real plan. We have money-hungry owners. It's above Carrick: we need that surgery NOW. Crash the stock.
