If you look past the legend and instead look at the story itself... ...you'll find LOVE.

The Pact is...a masterpiece. Truly a work of epic fantasy, sci-fi, romance, tragedy. It is the keystone that the Fourth World saga has at its heart. Emblematic of everything it was and could've been. Proud to have a copy in my collection.
I think issue 7 is easily my favorite. The origin of the pact between new genesis and Apokolips was great. The motives behind highfather make total sense. Man I wish they had let Kirby finish out his story. I crave more of his philosophy in these characters

Hey I know you!
also "most dc fans" is an extremely twitter metric. his books sell like hot cakes based solely on name recognition. one of few writers that can do that

you see we’d believe you if you didn’t have history of saying misogynistic and gross things about women

It is your moral responsibility as a comic fan to upload comics to piracy sites and preserve as much of them as possible

it's also really crazy because if you do hate Tom King entirely for moral reasons then you're entirely fucking justified in doing so.
I love how whenever Tom King comes up in the discourse, you get a round of “do you just hate Tom King for political reasons?” as if his work is so good as to be utterly unimpeachable as works of superhero fiction
