cold outreach is broken
i have been on both sides of this problem. running linkedin and email campaigns trying to get traction for my company, and receiving tons of emails and dms that there's no way i can ever vet properly
ai has made the problem so much worse because it's harder to tell what's spam and what can add value
but ai also holds the key for the solution - all you need to do is reverse the economics of cold outreach. the recipient has an ai agent that vets the sender, the sender can make the pitch and convince it the outreach is of high quality, but the sender also has to pay for the ai work that agent does
it's the perfect incentive alignment because (a) spam is usually about mass emails / dms that cost them nothing, and are much less likely to pay for pitching, (b) the real pitches get a fair chance, a real answer of whether their pitch matches the interests and preferences of the recipient, and even active steps they can make to improve their chances, and (c) recipients get to see verified and vetted pitches that might interest them, and that would otherwise be lost in the spam and endless noise of their email or linkedin inbox.
ai also let us productize the solution we created for ourselves, and it is now @nobdotme, and as a side note, if you were ever a founder building tech companies and you're not using ai now to launch side projects you're clinically insane
we called that agent a nob, because it decides if the door opens. yes, there are a lot of knob jokes that opens up. yes, we're going to do all of them.
go to nob.me, login with x, set up your nob, and put it in your bio on x and linkedin
Nob is a drop-in alternative to reading your own DMs. Sign in with X and your door lives at nob.me.
