Whenever I share philosophical content, I get targeted with hate speech in the comments and quotes simply because of my trans identity. Of course I block those who post hate speech and I do not engage with them, but some people constantly labeling homosexuals and trans individuals as mentally ill due to their religious beliefs or personal morality goes directly against modern scientific literature. The American Psychiatric Association removed homosexuality and transsexuality from the category of mental disorders back in the 1970s, and the World Health Organization followed in 1991. Today in developed countries, homosexuality and transsexuality are recognized as natural variations just like heterosexuality. Labels like perversion or disease aimed at non-heterosexual individuals have zero scientific basis. These labels are just empty words from people whose minds are blinded by hate.
