Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn: An ambulance is driving around blasting Bill Withers’ “Just The Two Of Us.”
There is solidarity all around us.

A political earthquake in Michigan!
As an Arab American on the left, I feel so much safer and optimistic about the future with Abdul El Sayed as the Democratic senate candidate in Michigan.
He opposes genocide and the destruction of Lebanon and wants to divert the money we spend killing people in other countries to giving me and my loved ones healthcare, which he sees as a basic human right.
And he won in the Midwest, which I was told is anti left and loves Israel 🤷🏻♀️
Looking forward to seeing how this plays out in November and how this reverberates across the country!
So much of the media coverage of Abdul El-Sayed vs Haley Stevens emphasizes Israel policy in the context of how it makes American Jews feel.
What about how it makes Arab Americans feel?
We spend our entire lives watching our native countries and relatives get bombed, occupied and dragged through the racist mud by elected officials and media. And then we’re smeared in the U.S. as bigots for opposing it.
If Abdul wins, it will be a watershed moment for Arab Americans. To have a U.S. senator who makes challenging the machinery that enables and justifies genocide in the Middle East a central part of his politics goes beyond mere representation. This guy is willing to confront the system that has murdered and dehumanized our communities for generations. Feels big.

A year ago today, Bernie shared our indie ad featuring some fired up words by Dr. @CornelWest.
@rockyowens + I still feel that Grieg’s “In the Hall of the Mountain King” sums up the chaos of a frantic establishment trying to stop a moral + spiritual movement for a better world.
"This is no ordinary campaign. This is a movement that has a spiritual and moral coming together." -Dr. @CornelWest
It was an honor to have both Bernie + Dr. @CornelWest share our work last March.

A year ago, Bernie shared our video and later swept the Nevada caucuses with 46.8% of the vote.
This day marked peak optimism for #NotMeUs and a well-deserved victory for everyone’s hard work.
Thrilled to have created this with producer @rockyowens + musician @liarosemusic.
When it comes to creating a nation that works for all of us, not just the 1%, we are all in this together.

COVID-19 is disproportionately killing Black, brown, and Indigenous people. The vaccine rollout program is disproportionately favoring white people.
This is structural racism in action.

I’m be watching @neeratanden’s confirmation hearing today with a great deal of confidence in our country’s future. Neera Tanden has always fought for vulnerable communities and working class families. She’s a wonderful leader. Excited to see what she does as OMB Director.
