My 10 step plan to fix the #Canucks long term (a thread)
1. Fire Jim Rutherford (or agree to mutually part ways). Despite him being a savvy operator with HoF career, his methods are outdated.
Hire a data-centric leader who has worked in smart organizations (TB, WSH) as POHO.

Here’s my impression of Quinn Hughes watching Titanic:
“Why isn’t the captain the first one on a lifeboat? Is he stupid?”

#Canucks fan chants so far tonight:
-Quinn Hughes sucks
-Quitter
-He's not signing
He will be booed tonight by fans including myself but the general sense I get is that after giving it to him tonight for leaving, most will move on.
Will that mean I will root for him and hope he wins? Hell no. But I won’t spread any more vitriol towards the guy on Twitter.
Go ahead and boo Quinn Hughes, but make no mistake, his #Canucks legacy should be celebrated.

Chinese and Punjabi families voted overwhelmingly conservative because they are mostly middle class families
Hard workers who haven’t had enough time to build generational wealth, but work too hard to need government handouts to survive
That’s the section of ppl truly screwed by the NDP recently
Rich ppl can go get healthcare in the US regardless of whether there’s a two tier system here, but not middle class ppl
Rich ppl can send their kids to private school but not middle class ppl
Rich ppl can send their kids to the Arbutus club, but not middle class ppl

Caleb Malhotra was dominant against UConn tonight. Another game where he consistently created grade-A chances for his teammates, who continue to struggle to finish. If they could bury even half of the chances he’s been setting up, he’d be over a point per game.
CM got 2 assists.

It's actually unreal. I'm begging you guys to tune into a Boston University game to check out what's happening over there. It's not even like Malhotra makes a nice pass and the goalie flashes the leather wow big save on his teammate. It's some of the biggest selling I've seen. Reminiscent of McKenna to start the NHL season except it's all facets of the game. Perfect backdoor pass... teammate skies it 200 feet above the net. Penalty kill getting a stick in the lane and ties a guy up high in the zone... teammate's just sitting back not joining the battle. We're all students here I get it we're here to learn... College hockey is academics first! I think Malhotra's learning first hand what it's gonna be like to play in Vancouver next year. 3rd overall pick, you want a guy who's dominating College Hockey. Despite the slow start, I think Malhotra ends the season 5-10pts above pt/game.
Caleb Malhotra (#Canucks) looks legitimately amazing tonight. Feels like the dam is starting to burst for him. Only the one assist thus far, but you know a lot more is on the way, in this game or not

Caleb Malhotra (#Canucks) goes low-high through the seam as he hits the deck and sets up Charlie Trethewey (PIT) for the 1-0 BU goal
That's the first assist of Malhotra's college career, and it's not too shabby
Shorty and Ferraro’s chemistry is great. Their stories and laughs combined with insight make the broadcast very fun to watch. It’s clear they are friends
Stark contrast to when Dave Tomlinson commentates.
He also sprints to the skytrain directly after the game. Wants to get out of there as soon as possible. Just does the job, which is fine, but he’s not very good or charismatic.
