Been digging into @CashmereLabs Mountain and the Barn Sale over the last few days, and it’s one of the more interesting setups I’ve seen in a while.
Instead of a standard token launch, they’re running almost everything through these Founding Barns. Only 1,000 of them will ever exist (Deed IDs 1–1000), and any that don’t sell are simply never made. Each one is soulbound at launch and actually participates in the $CSM issuance (Forage). You start with one stall open and can expand up to 10. Bind a Goat Street goat and put it In Barn and it mines at 3x the weight of just leaving it Grazing.
The sale itself is tiered to reward earlier applicants:
GTD: 0.125 ETH (up to 700 spots, guaranteed for listed wallets)
WL FCFS: 0.25 ETH (first come, first served, combined with GTD up to 900)
Public: Dutch auction starting at 1.5 ETH and dropping to 0.25 ETH over 30 minutes (then flat). Up to 3 per wallet.
Unsold GTD spots roll into the WL stage, and once the first two stages hit their limit the public opens immediately. Applications are open right now if you want a shot at the earlier, cheaper stages. Goat Street holders and early Cashmere users get priority consideration.
65% of the total 666M supply is meant to come out through this system over time, shared by weight. Permits, herding tolls, and Gate fees all burn tokens, and there’s a Season mechanic that scales emissions based on real ETH flowing through the system.
I’ve been around Cashmere since testnet and already have a handful of goats activated, so this feels like the natural next step for actually using them instead of just holding. The whole thing has more thought behind it than most of these “mine the token” setups.
