145 km/h in a 70 zone. That’s no small overshoot. This past weekend, one of our officers stopped a driver travelling westbound off the Second Narrows Bridge at 75 km/h over the posted speed limit. The result? A $483 ticket and a 7-day vehicle impound. Getting where you’re going a little faster isn’t worth the risk. At those speeds, things can go wrong in a hurry, and it’s not just your own safety on the line.

This week, we’re proud to host the Women’s Tactical Advancement Workshop (W-TAC) in #NorthVan. The new pilot initiative brings together women and gender-diverse RCMP officers from across the country who are interested in specialized and tactical policing roles. Over the course of the workshop, participants are getting hands-on experience, connecting with officers already working in specialized roles and learning more about the paths available to them, including what it takes to pursue these opportunities. We’re pleased to be part of an initiative that helps officers see what’s possible in their careers and prepare for what comes next.

Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour residential school survivors and remember the children who never made it home. Yesterday we were honoured to take part in a ceremony at the Strength & Remembrance Pole to hear from survivors and reaffirm our commitment to meaningful action every day . We are thankful to the witnesses, community leaders, and all those who came together in reflection. #NDTR

We were honoured to join RCMP members, veterans, families, friends and communities from across Canada at the RCMP National Memorial Service in Regina this past weekend. Held each year on the second Sunday of September, the service honours the 251 RCMP members, civilian members, auxiliary members and special constables who lost their lives in the line of duty. At our @RCMPDepot cenotaph, we came together to remember their service, honour their sacrifice and ensure their legacy is never forgotten.

🚴‍♂️ They’re off! This morning, we were proud to welcome the Cops for Cancer – Tour de Coast riders as they kicked off their eight-day, 700-kilometre journey across Greater Vancouver in support of the Canadian Cancer Society. We’re especially proud of Cst. McMillan and Cst. MacQueen, representing #NorthVan on their first Tour de Coast. After months of training and fundraising, they’re hitting the road to support children and families living with childhood cancer. We’re cheering them on every kilometre of the way! ❤️ Learn more about their fundraising efforts: tinyurl.com/37fdntnc

We’re not here to debate the technology. On August 11, Highway #1 in North Vancouver, this woman was ticketed $368. Two witnesses agreed to testify in court. The law requires that you are fully alert and focused on driving. rcmp.ca/en/bc/bchp/news/2026…

After nearly nine years with the #NorthVan RCMP, Cpl. Mansoor Sahak is moving on from his duties as the detachment’s Media Relations Officer. For the past four years, Cpl. Sahak has been the face of our detachment, consistently making time for media inquiries of all kinds and helping keep our community informed. His professionalism, thoughtfulness and care for others have made him a valued colleague and a familiar face in North Vancouver. We’re grateful for everything Mansoor has contributed over the years. He’ll be missed.

On Monday, one of our motor officers stopped a driver on Main Street for using an electronic device while driving. We’re used to seeing a cell phone in someone’s hand, but this driver decided to level up, holding a tablet with both hands while behind the wheel. The driver was fined $368. The ticket also comes with four demerit points. Your text, email, or next scroll can wait until you reach your destination. Keep both hands where they belong and your eyes on the road. #ArriveAlive

💍 A $50,000 ring, one detailed report, and a perfect Match Recently, a North Vancouver RCMP officer was assisting University RCMP with extra duties on their day off when they received a frantic call from a woman reporting that her wedding ring, featuring a 3-carat diamond and valued at approximately $50,000, had been lost along the Pacific Spirit Trail in Vancouver. The officer took the report and carefully documented a detailed description of the ring. Shortly after, a good Samaritan turned in a ring to the North Vancouver RCMP detachment. While reviewing reports, a civilian employee conducted a search and recognized the description as matching the one from the University RCMP file. The next day, the same officer who had taken the original report was able to reunite the ring with its rightful owner, who was understandably extremely grateful. In this case, it was the attention to detail in that initial report that connected the dots. A good Samaritan found it, a civilian employee recognized the description, and an officer followed through. A great example of how the little details, and a little teamwork, can make a big difference. ❤️💍
