At today’s #GAC, on the Article 7 procedure, StateSec @BiroNagyAndras presented the measures taken by the government to restore the rule of law in Hungary. Member States welcomed Hungary’s significant efforts. @EUCssrMcGrath also recognised the results at a bilateral meeting.
After long and hard work on this file, I’m pleased to see the conditionality procedure closed, with €4.2 billion unlocked and Hungarian universities back in Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe.
‼️ StateSec @BiroNagyAndras represents Hungary at today’s #GAC, which has just adopted the Council Implementing Decision lifting the conditionality measures on Hungary, unlocking €4.2 billion & restoring full access to Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe for all Hungarian universities.

As part of preparations for #EUCO, ministers exchanged views on the next #MFF at today’s #GAC. StateSec @BiroNagyAndras stressed the importance of strengthening the role of Cohesion Policy & CAP in the next MFF, new priorities must not come at the expense of traditional policies.
