It’s been a long time coming, but I have v0.1 of my circle #flipdot clock running. More work to get all the animations dialed, but it tells the time, connects to wifi to update the rtc via @AdafruitIO, and is all run via @CircuitPython on a feathers2 from @unexpectedmaker ! – at Oakwood, OH

@unexpectedmaker 400 mm x 400 mm board. I had to not just triple check but 10x check to make sure I had this design right before pulsing the order button. 98% right. Next will be perfect.

FWIW, programming in Python just makes everything easier. File save to update code is just ridiculous.

I've had a conversation with a few folks recently about how I get really good at skills very quickly, so I figured I'd share it online as well. It boils down to; compartmentalization, structured and informative failure, mindfulness, and Kung Fu. I'll address each individually.

Twitterverse, I need some help to decode a hybrid text/binary manufacturing file format. Workflow is Known Geometry->Black Box->Binary File. Eork would be contract based. Looking for personal referrals or recs on sites like eLance.
This week I’ve released #RadLines, a web based tool for making beautiful vector shapes for pen plotters, laser engravers and other #CNC machines. Check it out here and please share! msurguy.github.io/rad-lines/ #plottertwitter

One of my most controversial software opinions is that your sleep quality and stress level matter far, far more than the languages you use or the practices you follow. Nothing else comes close: not type systems, not TDD, not formal methods, not ANYTHING. Allow me to explain why.
