As coaches, your job isn’t to give athletes the answer, it’s to put them in a place to figure it out.

Altitude forces your easy days to be easier.
For thresholds, it punishes early aggressiveness. You quickly learn the price of getting the pacing wrong.
It's one of the reasons why training at altitude teaches you how to run by feel much better than at sea level.

The more experienced the runner, the more the coach exists to prevent the runner from doing dumb things, from getting in their own way. It’s holding back not pushing forward.
Training isn’t rocket science. Most of us could write a program that gets us 95% of the way there.

We’re training a generation to fear failure.
Not because they’re soft or lazy, because everything they do is on display.
Every test score, every game, every rejection lives forever online.
When life becomes performative, failure feels like a public referendum on your worth.
