The coolest AI success story is someone quietly making a thing they used to think was out of reach.

I made Autolith because I hated how bloated the harnesses are, that their code and approaches are in-human, that they had a tendency to re-invent the wheel 80 times over and so on.
I also believed that a harness is literally the perfect place for a Lisp model of software and that:
- There is merit in self-modifiable introspectable software
- RLM (Recursive Language Models) are a very under-utilized approach
- Many harnesses don't have enough of a focus on token efficiency/asynchronicity
- Symbolic features could be used to make clankers track long-term information, memories, assumptions and so on more effectively and correctly

Dude, developers solved problems by making the machine work since always
coding with ai is incredibly boring, change my mind
developers are problem solvers, there is no fun or gratification in writing prompts for a machine to do the work
coding exercises the brain, and when the novelty wears off from having ai generate features quickly... are we just glorified copywriters with tech knowledge?

My respect for Elon Musk has mostly vanished, but I still thought that at least he is a good engineer (Teslas are great cars). But that last bit also got a blow after hearing him say that it is easier to "cool things down" in space. The opposite is true. A vacuum is the best possible isolator. In space you can only dissipate heat through radiation. It is extremely unlikely these data centers in space will ever happen (and certainly not in our lifetimes).
