Incorporate micronutrients through tarted Foliar nutrition
Micronutrients are often required in smaller amounts - however still play a big role in overall crop performace!
Throughout the growing season, nutrients like Zinc, Manganese, Copper, Boron, and Iron support essential plant functions including photosynthesis, flowering, nutrient metabolism, and stress tolerance.
In-season Foliar applications is essential for maintaining optimal nutrient levels throughout the season.

Help protect your crop from heat stress
Periods of extreme heat can limit boron availability, leading to poor pollination, reduced fertilization, and lower grain fill. As a key micronutrient - Boron plays an essential role in pollen tube growth and successful seed set during flowering.
Our Boron-focused Foliar products, Super B and KB78, deliver highly available boron when crops need it most, helping support pollination and reduce the impact of heat stress during critical growth stages.

Heat stress during flowering can lead to flower abortion, poor pod fill, and reduced seed set -especially across canola and pulse crops.
Our targeted Boron focused Foliars - SuperB & KB78 are formulated with readily available Boron to help support crops through hot and dry conditions when Boron uptake can become limited.
Boron plays a critical role in:
➡️ Pollen development & pollen tube growth
➡️ Flower retention and seed set
➡️ Cell division & sugar transport
➡️ Supporting pod fill during reproductive stages
When applied at flowering, SuperB & KB78 can help support stronger reproductive development and reduce the impact of heat stress.

How Heat Affects Canola Pod Fill
Canola is most sensitive during flowering through early pod fill (roughly when pods are elongating and seeds are filling). Optimal daytime temps are ~20–25°C; stress ramps up above 28–30°C, with severe impacts above 32–35°C (especially with low humidity or wind, which increases evapotranspiration).
Key impacts:
• Flower abortion & poor pod set: High temps reduce pollen viability and fertilization success. Flowers drop instead of forming pods.
• Shorter pod fill duration: Seeds fill faster but incompletely — smaller, lighter seeds (lower thousand seed weight).
• Reduced seed number per pod: Fewer seeds set or aborted mid-fill.
• Quality hit: Higher green seed, lower oil content, and test weight issues (your “poor quality” Alberta/MB zones amplify this).
• Compounding factors: If preceded by excess moisture/flooding (as in parts of SK/MB), roots are shallower and plants are less resilient to sudden heat. Hail damage adds entry points for disease.
Duration & severity matter: A 2–3 day spike in the 30s°C is damaging but recoverable in some cases. A prolonged/extreme system (especially >35°C with nights not cooling off) can cut yields 10–30%+ in affected fields, depending on staging. Late-week heat hitting mid-to-late pod fill is particularly bad for final seed weight.
