MAGA is evil and we are $40 trillion in debt, so I have two simple rules: 1. Vote for anyone or anything but MAGA, and 2. Vote no on all new spending.

She didn't monetize her sacrificeโ€”she answered the call. The Senate hearing room went cold when the insult landed. Tammy Duckworth sat across from J.D. Vance, waiting for him to answer her question. She'd come prepared with policy, with specifics, with the kind of detailed inquiry that veterans' issues demand. But instead of engaging, Vance chose a different route. He compared her to Forrest Gump. Let that sink in for a moment. A sitting senator, facing a decorated combat veteran who'd left parts of herself on an Iraqi battlefield, thought a fictional character was the appropriate reference. Duckworth's response was surgical. She didn't raise her voice. She didn't need to. When you've piloted a Black Hawk helicopter through hostile fire, when you've felt the explosion that tears through metal and bone, when you've woken up in a hospital missing both legs and part of an arm, petty insults from small men barely register. November 12, 2004. That's the day her helicopter was hit by an RPG over Iraq. She was co-piloting, focused on her mission, when the world turned to fire and shrapnel. The rocket-propelled grenade destroyed her aircraft and nearly destroyed her. Most people would have let that be the end of their service story. Duckworth spent a year in recovery at Walter Reed. She learned to walk again on prosthetic legs. Then she went back to work. No book tour about resilience. No cable news circuit trading on sacrifice. She didn't monetize her Purple Heart or turn her injuries into a personal brand. She served in the Illinois National Guard, then ran for office to continue serving in a different capacity. Retired Lieutenant Colonel. Combat veteran. Purple Heart recipient. The first disabled woman elected to Congress, then to the Senate. The first senator to give birth while in office, bringing her newborn onto the Senate floor because the rules hadn't contemplated a working mother who'd also taken shrapnel for her country. When Vance tried his cheap shot, she treated it exactly like what it was: noise from someone who'd never answered a question he found uncomfortable. She'd faced real danger. She knew the difference between actual courage and performance art patriotism. That's who Tammy Duckworth is. Remember it.

The global response to Musk and Trump's pressure on Ukraine, accompanied by a temporary shutdown of Starshield, was swift. Here's where things stand now: ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ CANADA The Canadian government has signed a CAD 2.3 billion contract with national satellite operator Telesat to expand its Lightspeed low-Earth-orbit satellite constellation. Lightspeed was originally developed as a commercial competitor to Starlink and OneWeb. However, the government is now funding the integration of a dedicated, secure military communications system operating in the Ka-band and has already placed an order for additional satellites with Canadian aerospace company MDA Space. ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ฎ FINLAND Finnish company ICEYE, a developer of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites, and Nokia have announced a strategic partnership to develop sovereign LEO broadband communications systems for interested European governments. The project aims to provide European countries with a ready-made platform allowing each government to fully own and control its own satellite communications infrastructure, including encryption, without dependence on foreign providers. This concept is known as "Sovereign SatCom." ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ EUROPEAN UNION The European Commission has moved toward awarding manufacturing contracts and increasing funding for its sovereign satellite communications network, IRISยฒ. Airbus Defence and Space has already signed contracts in Toulouse to manufacture the first 66 LEO satellites. Thales Alenia Space has been tasked with developing specialized secure payloads for government applications. The program has been expanded to 348 satellites, with an additional โ‚ฌ4 billion in funding. ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ท SOUTH KOREA South Korea has successfully conducted its first orbital launch of the year using its domestically developed Nuri (KSLV-II) rocket from the Naro Space Center. The rocket simultaneously deployed 14 payloads, including additional satellites for the national NEONSAT constellation and several military CubeSats. ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต JAPAN Japan has allocated approximately $1 billion in subsidies to develop a nationally controlled direct-to-device satellite network. The system is designed to allow ordinary smartphones to communicate directly with satellites during major earthquakes or military conflicts. The project involves cooperation between Rakuten and AST SpaceMobile. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ UKRAINE The UASAT project, an initiative by STETMAN and a consortium of partners, has successfully completed registration with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Preparations are now underway for the UASAT-NANO test satellite, which will mark the first step toward creating Ukraine's own sovereign satellite constellation. ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฟ CZECH REPUBLIC At the same time, agreements with the Czech Republic are being finalized for the joint development of a constellation of optical reconnaissance satellites called Suziria ("Constellation"). Ukraine is also expected to gain access to backup capacity within Europe's GOVSATCOM system. ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช GERMANY German company Isar Aerospace successfully launched its Spectrum rocket into orbit carrying satellites on September 5. THE BIG PICTURE The brilliant strategists Elon and Donnie wanted to show us who controls the red button for satellite internet. Well, they succeeded. And in a strange way, perhaps we should thank them. Because they have reminded the entire world of one simple truth: Whoever controls your communications can control your future. And now countries around the world are working to make sure that no single billionaire โ€” or American president โ€” can ever hold that power over them again.

Alex Pretti's father: Our son was shot and killed by the government, federal immigration agents, on January 24th, 2026. We learned about his death from the media as we saw him being shot repeatedly in the back after helping a woman from his community. This was not a protest that Alex was at. His hands were in the air, and his face was on the ground when he was executed by ICE agents. We know exactly what our eyes saw. No one from the federal government called us on that day. But they did go on TV to tell lies about Alex. No one has called us since. No one has recanted those lies.

Three down. Three left. The people have spoken. We have had enough of the chaos, the hatred, the corruption, and the authoritarian idiots who think the world belongs to them. Orbรกn, Bolsonaro and Vuฤiฤ‡ have all been rejected by voters. Today, Netanyahu could be next. And Trump looks increasingly likely to earn his own big red cross in the midterms. That leaves Putin. The rest of us must make sure Moscow gets its red cross too, by giving Ukraine everything it needs to defeat Russiaโ€™s imperial ambitions. The age of ยซstrongmenยป is looking a little less strong. And that is a beautiful thing. Remember when you could wake up in the morning without wondering which country was being threatened, which ally had been insulted, or which international crisis had been manufactured overnight by a man with an oversized ego? When politics was often boring, diplomacy happened behind closed doors, and world leaders generally tried to solve problems instead of creating three new ones before breakfast? It wasnโ€™t a perfect world. Far from it. But there was a certain peace in not having to listen to angry old men demanding the worldโ€™s attention every single day. Imagine getting that peace back. Imagine a world where the morning news is about progress, discoveries and possibilities, rather than the latest threats, lies and tantrums. We deserve that world again.

I saw no women being assaulted. I saw no nose picking. I saw no ear wax eating. I heard no stories about menโ€™s asses. I heard no strange burping noises, no slurring, no moaning. And I heard no songs about homosexual hook ups at the local gym while an old fat man wearing makeup danced like he was wanking 2 giraffes. I didnโ€™t see or hear any of that during Barack Obamaโ€™s speeches today. Just an adult speaking in complete sentences to an audience who appreciated every word. It was nice.

An upside-down and right-side up flag together means while the country exists normally, it is experiencing a severe internal crisis or โ€œdire distressโ€ The imagery of a veteran standing on a freeway overpass with an upside-down American flag carries a distinct meaning rooted in military tradition and law. According to the U.S. Flag Code, flying or displaying the American flag upside down is an official signal of "dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property". While originally intended as a maritime distress signal for ships at sea, it has evolved over recent decades into a protected form of political protest used to symbolize a country or individual experiencing acute national, systemic, or personal distress.
