On Russia and Ukraine, Vance was asked if he agreed with special envoy Steve Witkoff calling Russian President Vladimir Putin a "humanitarian" for agreeing to release Stephen Hubbard.
Vance praised the prisoner release but did not criticize Witkoff's description of the Russian leader.

To free that guy you removed sanctions?

See, the point is - why not free all who were occupied (aka Russia getting the heck out of Ukraine) and then consider removing sanctions?
