All serious journalists and activists should be running Linux on their computer and a GrapheneOS phone. Everything else will end up with device side scanning of your documents and chats (to protect the children of course).

X should disable all Australian government sock puppet accounts unless they upload verifiable ID to prove that they are over the age of 16. #DigitalDutyOfCare

Aus Greens help pass the Digital Duty of Care but One Nation are yet to enshrine in a policy document any plan to repeal it, the online safety act, or the U16 social media ban. And no sign of policy to protect privacy online, anonymous VPN use. @OneNationAus @PaulineHansonOz

The eSafety commission should be abolished. Keeping people safe online could be an assignment for the CSIRO where focus would be 100% on technology for home users and parents. The government should not be creating a censorship regime. @OneNationAus @LibertariansAus @RennickGBR

So will the Australian government have to do age verification for their new sockpuppet social media accounts? Will they fake up some ID documents? A.I. selfie pics? Or will they just use a good old VPN to somewhere with a free and open internet.

In Andy Burnham's Britain there will be more restrictions to using using social media than there will be to vote This tells you everything you need to know They want to arrest people who criticise the Government online and they want to allow millions of migrants to vote
🚨NEWS: UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham is set to remove the need for a photo I.D to vote in elections However he is still pressing ahead with plans to make it compulsory to identify yourself to use social media

The presidential election in Brazil is a runoff system, similar to preferential voting in Australia. If no candidate gets more than 50% of the vote in the first round, a run off of the top 2 happens. This ensures a measure of the broadest support.

The Australian preferential system is not limited to the top 2 in the runoff, all candidates are included. The candidate with the fewest votes is eliminated first and their ballot is redistributed to the 2nd preference of the voter. Candidates are eliminated and votes redistributed until someone gets more than 50%. And because preferences are chosen at the first election, no second round election is needed.

Is there anyone in the Australian political sphere that will have the courage to legislate our right to anonymous speech? Will the free speech referendum promised by @OneNationAus include this right?
No social media client of mine will be forced to dox their users, either by the UK or any other country. Anonymous speech - the right to host it and to utter it - is protected by the First Amendment. Congress should step in to protect the American Internet.

Regular post to point out that @OneNationAus still has no official policy to abolish the eSafety commission and repeal U16 and the online safety act. Zero internet privacy policy. @PaulineHansonOz @MRobertsQLD

Free press includes the right to online anonymity. Undermining it is what fragile authoritarians on both sides of politics do, but the American political class refuses to get it.

This was the plan all along. Zero Knowledge Proofs still means you have to ask for permission to use the internet. Fuck that. We have used the web without issue for 30 years without this BS. Refuse. Encrypt everything. Find the underground.
🚨JUST IN: SEC Commisioner calls to END mass KYC data collection. Hester Peirce warns existing KYC/AML frameworks create huge databases of sensitive user data, making them prime targets for hacks, phishing and even physical attacks. She is pushing zero-knowledge proofs as an alternative, allowing users to prove compliance without exposing their personal data.

74 years ago, there was a UFO case. Many analysts thought it was seagulls. Some were convinced it was not. Today, for some reason, the US Government released a new digitization of the film from that event. It looks exactly like the seagulls that sometimes fly above my house.

Hopefully he starts to speak out against Digital ID and the age verification nonsense.

Look at the child's age in this image and tell me it isn't propaganda. If a parent can't stop a kid this young from creating a Facebook account or talking to strangers in games, social services should be called.
Today, the Commission proposed the EU KIDS Act, with age-appropriate protections to make online platforms safer for children & teenagers. No addictive features. No unwanted contact. No beauty filters for under-18s. No minors livestreaming. Read more: link.europa.eu/fmGF79

Only a few decades ago, we still had tiny hamlets and villages that were willing to fight corporations just to save the phoneboxes that now lay in phonebox cemeteries, private estates, or auctions.
The cultural/architectural decline of London: This vandalised phonebox is/was in honour of Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, who designed Britain’s iconic red telephone boxes during the 1920s/30s. It symbolically sits in front of the hotel that his grandfather designed. Now look at it. What sort of a mindset would want to sticker, graffiti, and vandalise what is essentially a symbol of London, and of course, Britain? This phonebox wasn't in use but purely a tiny museum dedicated to the birth of the red phone box. I hope that whatever your political laning may be, you agree that this is a diabolical shame. 🤝 @PubHistoryTours

The phrase 'Adult human female' doesn't sound right. Shouldn't it be 'Female adult human' ?

So the Australian Greens voted to expand the power of the censorship bureau. They used to stand against this sort of thing many years ago when people like @Scottludlam were in the parliament. I wonder what he thinks about all of this.
🚨BREAKING: The Online Safety Amendment (Strengthening Enforcement for the Social Media Minimum Age) Bill 2026 has passed in the Senate with support from Labor, Greens, David Pocock and Jacqui Lambie. 31 YES, 20 NO. Voted against by Liberals, Nationals, One Nation, Jacinta Price and Fatima Payman. 20 senators paired their votes (absent). It gives eSafety the power to summon people for private examinations, compel them to answer questions, and imposes up to 12 months’ imprisonment for refusing to comply. This is NOT the 'Digital Duty of Care' legislation.
