Former PM Omar frequently speaks about the importance of institution-building and good governance, yet simultaneously supports actions that fundamentally undermine the constitutional framework and principles underpinning Somalia’s federal states power-sharing system.
Omar’s support for Guudlaawe’s election, which was conducted in violation of the 2012 Constitution, is fundamentally inconsistent with the political stability, security, and constitutional order he so frequently advocates.

Qatar’s perceived double standards and inconsistencies warrant careful scrutiny, and the #Somali people, wherever they may be, should remain vigilant and critically assess external narratives to avoid being misled.
The #Qatar-funded outlet Middle East Eye published an article titled “How Israel’s recognition of Somaliland risks destabilising the region.” Critics argue that the article’s framing risks deepening political tensions among Somalis and across the Horn of Africa, particularly in light of recent developments involving Israel and Somaliland.
Questions have also been raised regarding Qatar’s broader regional conduct, with observers pointing to a pattern of inconsistency that has become increasingly difficult to overlook.
By way of context, former UK Member of Parliament George Galloway has publicly stated that during his time attending the Doha Debates in Doha (2004–2012), he encountered then Israeli President Shimon Peres at the same venue - at a time when no Arab state officially maintained relations with Israel, and Turkey was Israel’s primary link to the Muslim world.
Against this background, some analysts highlight an apparent contradiction: while Qatar’s discreet engagement with Israel has often been justified in terms of technological, developmental, and security interests, similar engagements by other Muslim actors are frequently subjected to strong public criticism. Such disparities, critics argue, underscore the need for greater consistency, transparency, and principled coherence in regional diplomacy.

Bad news for those in Puntland who’ve been complicit in the massacres in Sudan. According to Middle East Eye, a UN report submitted to the Security Council last week shows that Colombian mercenaries were trained at the PMPF base in Bosaso before being flown from there to Sudan.
The report is now before the Security Council, and the UN has the evidence of Deni’s role in Sudan’s war. That is ends his presidential ambitions in Somalia.

This is official confirmation that the forces unlawfully deployed by Hassan Sheikh to capture Buurhakaba in the Lower Shabelle region, and subsequently intercepted by al-Shabaab, Gorgor forces were among them, alongside with other mixed military units.
The footage features an interview with a prisoner captured by al-Shabaab, identified as Mohamed Husein, a member of the 2nd Battalion of the Gorgor forces, whose commander was Abas Isse. He reportedly departed Mogadishu on the 19th of October, 2026.

Armed militia forces opposed to the Federal Government-aligned Hirshabelle administration have entered and taken control of the Lamagalaay compound in Beledweyne, which houses the Hiiraan regional administration and Somali military command facilities, without encountering armed resistance.

The developments suggest that Beledweyne, the capital of Somalia’s Hiiraan region, may have effectively fallen under the control of opposition forces led by former National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) director Abdullahi Mohamed Ali Sanbalolshe.
The apparent withdrawal of government-aligned officials and the opposition’s reported takeover of strategic administrative and military facilities mark a significant escalation in the ongoing political and security crisis in Hiiraan.
