Your social media followers won't convert into customers, but they can if you try posting these 5 types of content:
1. Demo - showcase doing something using your product.
Example: If you sell a cooking product, use it while making food.
2. Case study - showcase the results of using a specific service.
Example: This is what happened to your sales once you started using SEO.
3. Lives - interact with people in real time, ask them questions, help them, and pitch them on your product or service.
4. Educational content - educate, but include a CTA to sell your product or service.
Example: I create content teaching SEO, but I will mention if you want my team to do it for you, hit up my ad agency, NP Digital.
Example 2: Here's how to make the most delicious chocolate cake... show them step by step, and then tell them they can buy the products you used from your site.
5. Webinars - broadcast live on all your social platforms using platforms like Restream, educate, and then sell at the end.
You can even generate webinar signups by promoting the webinar to your audience beforehand.

People talk about how amazing social media marketing is, but the data shows otherwise.
We looked at analytics for 10,000 sites. Check out this data…
Organic social media traffic, on average, makes up 6.38% of a website's traffic.
SEO traffic, on average, makes up 49.04% of a website's traffic.
For the sites with conversion tracking setup, organic social media traffic only comprised 1.59% of their sales.
SEO traffic made up 56.11% of their sales for the same sites.
Organic social media traffic, on average, is declining by 1.98% per quarter.
Organic SEO traffic bounces around a lot due to algorithm updates, but on average, sites saw an increase in traffic by 2.57% in the last 12 months.
Now, let’s look at the paid data…
Search ads made up 9.02% of a website's traffic on average.
Paid social traffic made up 4.72% of the traffic on average.
The average return on ad spend for paid search traffic is 352%.
The average return on ad spend for paid social was 288%.
Does this mean social media is a waste of time?
Of course not… but just because people spend the most time on a specific channel, it doesn’t mean it’s better.
To give you context, people spend 2 hours and 23 minutes a day on social media, according to Data Reportal, and 15.4 minutes a day on search, according to Statista.
Nonetheless, use all marketing channels.
But just because one channel is sexy doesn’t mean it performs better.
Apple.
Just not by the bad guys.

The 2 most overlooked opportunities in SEO
If you look at the graph you can see that 680 million searches that happen each day are questions.
But if you look at the keywords you are targeting on your site, how many of them are question related?
And if you look at the graph you’ll see that 1.27 billion searches a day are new search queries that have never been typed into Google before.
But if you look at your SEO strategy, how many keywords are you targeting that aren’t popular in volume?
Because these new keywords that are being searched for the first time are just starting to become popular… in keyword tools they won’t show up with high volume.
If you target those two segments it makes up 23% of all searches done on Google.
Those keywords aren’t competitive and you can find them by the boatload for free using the tool Answer the Public.
Product, Price, Promotion and Place

There is a $1.3 trillion marketing opportunity that you are missing out on.
When you think about buying something, where do you typically start?
Maybe Google?
And maybe you end your purchase on Amazon if it is a product.
And if it is a service, you’ll end up on someone’s website.
But where do you spend a lot of your time each day?
According to DataReportal the average person spends 2.5 hours a day on social media.
And there are 4.8 billion people on social media according to Search Engine Journal.
Even though social media may not give you the engagement it once did…
There is still a lot of money to be made on it.
Social commerce (selling on social media) is huge.
In 2023 TikTok made an estimated $20 billion from social commerce.
And the most popular networks for social commerce according to eMarketer:
Facebook – 19%
Instagram – 12%
YouTube – 9%
TikTok – 8%
Snap – 6%
Pinterest – 6%
X – 5%
Whether you love or hate social media, you should start selling your products and services on social media.
And don't worry there is nothing wrong with selling to your followers.
Getting likes and more followers is cool, but what's cooler is making money.

Google is shutting down tens of millions of small business sites from March.
All subdomains hosted on their . business . site domain will be removed next month.
Here is the multimillion dollar idea:
✅ Use scrapers to extract all websites from Google search results using Google search operators:
site:* business . site
(remove the spaces from above)
✅ Now use new scraper rules to visit each website, and create a perfect clone of the current website on your server, in a subfolder that matches their subdomain
✅ Now buy a domain name such as business . inc or something generic (sorry, I actually bought business . inc 😉)
The intention will be to replicate all small business sites currently using Google’s own business . site domain
✅ Hire a few VAs to call the site owners and tell them you have a ready made clone of the website available instantly, for a smooth transition
✅ Rent this clone under a subdomain for $5 a month
✅ If you sell this to 20K website owners, you’ll make $100,000 per month just by hosting their website
Remember, there will be 20 million desperate website owners next month with their website shut down, who will need a solution.

Great example of business models.
I do an exercise with my marketing 1st years.
Raise your hand if you have FB 🤚
Raise your hand if you subscribe to a content provider 🤚
Raise your hand if you’d pay £10pm to use FB ad and data free ….
If you can’t see the product it’s you.
People think advertising is a crappy business compared to subscriptions…
But did you know that Facebook makes more per user than Netflix?
Charging people money for something isn’t the only way to make money.
There are many different ways to monetize.
In many cases, the ugliest solutions tend to be the sexiest from a financial standpoint.
It’s just like my ad agency, NP Digital.
A lot of work may not be wowing like you see in a Super Bowl commercial. But performance marketing produces a massive ROI.
It’s why we are 750 plus people and still growing in a bad economy.
Don’t focus on the sexy, the money is in the ugly.

“Which marketing channel would you start with if you lost everything and had to start from scratch?”
Answer: YouTube, but not for the reason you are thinking.
I originally started my career with traditional SEO, which paid off.
But in today’s world, video helps you connect with people more than text and it’s easy to create video because we all have smartphones.
Now you could in theory post the video content on any social channel, but they all have one major issue in common.
The content you post is only useful for a few days.
No matter how popular it is, after a few days, it typically is useless because social networks like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Snap, Reddit, and X focus on giving new content views instead of old stuff.
On the flip side, if you upload content to YouTube, your videos that are a year old can still get thousands of views per month.
And sometimes even more.
All the content you keep adding to Youtube compounds and you can keep getting more and more traffic even if you don’t crank out as much new content.
In other words, your old stuff keeps paying dividends.
That’s tough to do with any other major social network.
