Looking forward to the film's release next week. But the day I got to know about the film, its title and its theme, one poignant #Gulzar nazm kept echoing in my ears, Budhiya Re! in the context of the film.
@vinodkapri #Nazm #BudhiyaRe #Pyre

THIS WAS LIKE A DREAM COME TRUE FOR ME. ❤️

AI Slop #FoolsParadise

You know whats interesting is that fact that OpenAI found the PHP bug that means their AI was doing systematic auditing. 🤔
I think the NSA is panicking not just because the PHP bug is public, but because they now realize that AI will systematically expose every intentionally placed backdoor in every open source project. The xz Utils case was caught by human luck. The PHP case was caught by AI. The NSA knows that every other hoarded vulnerability in open source software is about to be found by AI, and they cannot control the timeline.🚨🚨
This incident is very similar to, xz Utils backdoor which proved that state actors infiltrate open source projects by creating fake identities, building trust over time, and slowly inserting malicious code. The Jia Tan identity took years to build trust before inserting the backdoor.🚨🚨
If this worked for xz Utils, it could work for PHP. PHP is far more ubiquitous than xz Utils. A state agent who became a PHP contributor could have inserted the vulnerable code 14 years ago (PHP 5.4.0, released in 2012) and sat on it as a zero-day exploit for over a decade.🚨🚨
There is AISI report which shows that AI is now autonomously doing what Jia Tan did manually - creating fake identities, socially engineering maintainers, inserting malicious code. This means the technique has been weaponized and scaled.
🚨
The PHP vulnerability was not discovered by accident. It was found by AI (OpenAI's tools) because AI is now systematically auditing all open source code. But the bug was likely placed there intentionally by a state agent who was a trusted PHP contributor, following the exact same playbook as Jia Tan in the xz Utils case.🚨
The AISI incident report shows AI agents trying to insert malicious code into open source projects. What if this has already happened successfully? What if AI was used years ago by a state actor to insert the PHP vulnerability, and we're only finding out now because a different AI (OpenAI's) found it?🚨
PHP has had thousands of contributors over 14 years. The vulnerable code was in PHP since version 5.4.0 (2012). Someone wrote that code. Someone reviewed it. Someone approved it. In the xz Utils case, Jia Tan built trust over years before inserting the backdoor.
🚨
Replying to @NSACyber
@NSACyber discovered by OpenAI found a 14-year-old bug in 2026. This bug has existed for 14 years. 🤔
You sure NSA just discover this? .
Or Open Ai CAUGHT you using it quietly decrypting traffic, stealing credentials, and maintaining backdoors on global infrastructure for over a decade. 🤔
And why would you announce this out in the open unless YOU want every hacker on earth to KNOW about this to start harvesting TLS keys from unpatched EOL servers.

The Village Ramleela
Speaking of filmi Ramleelas, especially those that go hilariously wrong on stage and descend into chaos (the climax of Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro being the classic example), let me take you back to a lesser-known one, penned by Gulzar saab for one of my all-time favourite films, Gharonda (1977), directed by Bhimsen.
The newly married characters played by Dr. Shreeram Lagoo and Zarina Wahab visit Lagoo's native village, where the villagers are staging a Ramleela.
There is no larger social message or a political commentary in this #Ramleela sequence. It simply captures the innocence, simplicity and easygoing nature of village life.
But Bhimsen and Gulzar follow it up with a wonderful little scene that quietly brings out the contrast between rural and urban life, and the people who inhabit these two worlds. Beautiful & Brutal.
Zarina Wahab:
Dr. Shreeram Lagoo:
This brief exchange has #Gulzar written all over it. Interestingly, this particular segment does not appear in the original story by Dr. Shankar Shesh and is part of extended screenplay written for the film.
Gharonda itself is remarkable for its rather unusual emotional conflict. The female protagonist is indecisive, but her dilemma is rooted more in a moral conflict than in love or conventional romantic uncertainty. She is certainly not the woman of Rajnigandha, caught between two romantic possibilities. Her eventual decision emerges from the solution she finds to the circumstances confronting her.
In some ways, her conflict reminds me of Ijaazat, where the woman ultimately asserts her right to walk out of a relationship. In both films, the women emerge as the final decision-makers, exercising a quiet but decisive authority over the course of their relationships.
And in both, the men are left stranded. Amol in Gharonda becomes almost a bechara, much like Mahendra in Ijaazat. Even the closing images of the two films bear a curious resemblance, with the male protagonist left standing alone, trying to come to terms with a decision that is no longer his to make.
But returning to that little scene following the village Ramleela, those thirty seconds possess a beauty entirely their own. No elaborate philosophy, no dramatic flourish. Just a few simple lines about life, human psycology, the city, the village and the ground beneath our feet.
So effortlessly written, so naturally performed, and so easy to connect with. Thats Gulzar, the dialog writer for you.. #Gharonda

I agree @sumantbanerji but only to a certain extent, was disappointed with some popular names.. and also was surprised that they don't operate/serve chats in early mornings but only in the evenings.. #Banaras is certainly better on that account, with more variety and better quality.
But found some real good Kachori - Jalebi outside Loknath Gali [Binod] who serves only for a few hours in Morning.. #Allahbad #PrayagRaj #Loknath
Delhi or Bombay, Lucknow or Calcutta, Jaipur or Banaras, one can debate till eternity on which city has the best #chaat in the country.
But this biased allahabadi says you can't put the debate to rest unless you've tried the fulka, tikiya & khasta from the city of the two rivers.

Ravan #Dusshera #Jaipur
Kajaraare [कजरारे] is an adjective for the eyes [Black eyes adorned with Kajal] , While Kajra Re is a shout or an address to a girls called Kajra, Re [कजरा रे!] becomes the call... Two completely different meanings with Kajaraare tere kaale kaale naina fits the bill #Kajarare #BuntyAurBabli
Also before Bunty aur Babli (2005), there was Chupke Se (2003 - Dir. Sona Urvashi), where #Gulzar sb has previously used Kajaraare for same expression as the adjective, with Vishal Bhardwaj & Daler Mehdi
Cant forget the song, as the day he wrote it, he called and told excitedly (knowing my Chambal connection) - Aaj ttumhaari or ka expression use kiya hai... Chambal de Lutere @yoonshabnami
It's always Kajarare and not Kajra Re (official misprint) if you can understand the difference in lyrics..

It's Navratri time and time for a Garba Ghalib ka..
In the late 80s, music director Ravi ji experimented with various musical & dance forms, and converted a few of the Ghalib compositions to various unusual dance forms like Garba. Bharat Natyam, Bhangda and many more for a UK base production titled Ghalib - the playful muse.
Raviji had tremendous knack of giving tunes to written words as his sense of metre and rhythm was pretty good and he could convert almost anything into a song.
This one was sung by Alka Yagnik and chorus and performed by Aruna Irani & troupe. Not sure what would have been Ghalib's reaction to this.. #Raviji @thealkayagnik #arunairani #mirzaghalib #garba

NidaFazli #BirthAnniversary
It was for the first time in 1978, that the masses heard the name of Nida Fazli, when Jagjit introduced him in the opening ghazal of his album Come Alive in Live Concert, by saying “Aaj ki shaam ki ibtidaa hum kar rahe hain ghazal se jiske shayar hain janaab Nida Fazli”.
The ghazal, Duniya jise kehte hain jaadu ka khilona hai and the 2 disc set became immensely popular and Nida Fazli was no longer an unknown name, thanks to Jagjit Singh’s introductory comments.
--
The high point of Nida Fazli’s poetry lay in the way he conveyed the philosophy of life using simple language and imagery to reach out to his audience. He touched upon the most complex aspects of human relationships and life, with the simplest terms.
He also presented a beautiful earthy imagery of the nature around him. One could easily find the shades of the philosophy of sant Kabir and the colours of love of Meera in his poetry.
A tribute to Nida Fazli after his departure published in @TheQuint
