It’s sad and infuriating to see how we all have internalised layoffs as part of our corporate lives, when no job should be bound to this possibility. We normalise scarcity because we have normalise the capitalist economy that leads to it since we were born.
I’m at the verge of crying from all the lovely messages and the support. And I know crying at this is the inevitable and doing so is part of letting feelings be felt and heal, so I can’t wait to unleash my cry - just not while on the tube by myself, pls! ✊😭
Rubén is everything to me. He has been by my side my whole life (literally) and every single day I’m grateful to just share a text, a call, a game, a day… anything if it’s with him. Truly, what I treasure the most in my life: him ❤️

Sadly, I’m part of the group of employees affected by the layoff at Epic. This means I’ll most likely lose my job as a Senior UX Designer.
These news have found me while on medical leave, so I’m not looking for job opportunities in the short/medium term. More in 🧵
