At PDF Nigeria, we believe healthcare works best when patients and doctors understand each other.
We’re not on the patient’s side.
We’re not on the doctor’s side.
We’re on the human side.
Better healthcare outcomes is our goal.
If period pain is stopping her from living her life, it’s not “normal.”
Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women, yet diagnosis can take years
At PACEM, patient-centered care means:
Listening without dismissal.
Investigating persistent pain.
Making decisions together.
Believe women.
Act early.
Improve outcomes.

LOOKING AT A PATIENT AS A WHOLE.
A patient is never just a diagnosis.
They are not “the diabetic in bed 4” or “the asthma case in clinic.”
They are someone’s mother, brother, daughter, friend.
You understand that illness affects not only the body, but also the mind, emotions.
Giving medicine — but also giving hope.
Sometimes the most healing words are not prescriptions, but:
“I hear you.”
“I understand.”
“We will walk through this together.”

Awesome.
This is the spirit! I am really amazed by Dr. @EPotterMD’s work.
We need more health professionals to challenge the status quo. She has really taken on the giants. I am rooting for her.
Patient centered care includes the billing and cost of care. @pacemafro
If I want healthcare to be different, I have to practice differently.
Today at Redbud we did multiple cases in an environment built around patients, not profit margins. We had time. We had focus. We had the right team in the right setting.
One patient came to us after receiving a quote of more than $100,000 for her cancer surgery elsewhere. The operating room fees alone were quoted at over $30,000. We performed her surgery today at Redbud, a CMS-certified facility with fellowship-trained surgeons and experienced nurses for a fraction of that cost.
Same standard of excellence. Different priorities.
Healthcare does not have to be this expensive in America. It’s not easy to do things differently, but it is possible. And we’re proving that one patient at a time.
Feeling rushed, ignored or dismissed can shape a patient’s entire health care experience ,sometimes more than the outcome itself

Patient centered care means respect, empathy and involvement at every step.
