Inspired this week by @Gav2776 to blow the dust of the IGP visualisation tools I worked on for JUNOS Automation Cookbook. The Python had definitely not aged well! But a bit of spit and polish in JetBrains PyCharm sees the IGP dumps from Juniper into the ever-versatile GraphViz
Forget Kandy Krush, Replicube or other word game brain teasers. Juniper/HP have nailed it with their innovative puzzle games! Get that cognitive workout you need with the Juniper Port Checker and see if you can load your box correctly! I can't get past the MX304 level...!
Oh no! Major blow for Rust advocates and afficianados everywhere as Matt Prince @eastdakota reveals a stray unwrap() in Cloudflare’s shiny new FL2 rust code was responsible for yesterday’s quick trip back to books by candlelight!
Nice Christmas trip home to visit family brought to an abrupt end when @British_Airways lost luggage LHR-PRG and I am reminded of the continuing fascination with no-contact customer services that big business still seems to have. Exception time is absolutely when you win and maintain customer loyalty. It’s not the to time to hide behind robot IVRs, broken web captchas, piss poor AI chatbots etc. Just pick up the phone, get a human to engage and you’ll find you have an begrudgingly understanding customer rather than a complaint, a claim and lost future business.
Seminal Geoff Huston pouring oil onto an already incendiary IPv6 working group at RIPE89, calling their beloved datagram protocol “a 1980s addressing architecture,” (with worse hair!) from the safety of his remote video.
Session-based NAT firewalls being set alight and thrown on the stage by enraged end-to-end-istas in response!

CVE-2024-6387 innocent log/debug slipped into a signal handler yields RCE @Qualys, with some inspiringly devious techniques on fine-tuning their race exploit with network timing analysis! Bonus points too I think for coining the verb, to malloc()ate!

Thanks BGP Ben for the alert! It turns out that prefix-length checking does contain some hidden man-traps
Pretty sure I used to be able to solve world hunger on the train home when I had a Blackberry with keyboard. Today’s youngsters may not remember, but with the aid of @fulopke’s innovative MacGyver effort they too can enjoy limitless levels of productivity from their smartphones!

I think you should probably offer advice, Daniel. Don't stand on ceremony. If I understand the concern, seems to me that the simplest curl_min binary (admittedly devoid of any opts) could be implemented just using the example at curl.se/libcurl/c/CURLOPT_PR…

I think per-AFI session is really just a variation on your original ideas for VPN RR scaling in MPLS/VPN Architectures (sharded using RT in that case), Ivan! Collision avoidance can be ducked using Juniper LSYS (am sure Cisco has similar).

I think anyone who has debugged MT code would agree that the simplicity of single-threaded code really can't be understated, esp. when dealing with shared resources like I/O descriptors. Explain the output of the following for example
I'm sure we've all experienced "alignment anxiety" when using Visio and friends for diagramming. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em with Excalidraw's "sloppy" mode... excalidraw.com/
