Before you write a blog post write exactly why you think it should exist and the outcome you want to achieve.
Far too often do marketers create content just to fill up their calendar.
Be intentional.

Congrats to the dozens of brands seeing 100-1,000% increases in SEO visibility overnight, outside of a core update, and in some cases, their biggest spike in SEO visibility ever
Can confirm that various SEOs have DM'd me saying these stats are real
Hope it lasts 😅
Had a couple of interesting chats with SEOs about Google’s site reputation abuse penalties hitting leased site hosts/directories. Impact on previously successful sections on popular domains is clear

In March the Financial Times released their list of Europe's 1,000 fastest-growing companies for 2024.
I went through every single one to find interesting online success stories with verified revenue numbers.
Here are 10 that stood out, ranked by their three-year growth rate 👇
10. Superprof: $25.7M/yr matching people with teachers to help them learn new skills, like playing the guitar. 🎸
The site is targeting people in France so could be good to model elsewhere.
Absolute three-year growth: 244.9%
9. Parcel Compare: $10.8M/yr helping people in the UK compare parcel delivery companies online. 📦
The comparison includes national and international shipping prices—such a unique idea.
Absolute three-year growth: 263.2%
8. RoomRacoon: $3.88M/yr SaaS helping hotel owners with 10-100 rooms manage all aspects of their operations. 🏨
Consider everything hotels need to handle, such as check-in, housekeeping, room availability and upsells. They cover it all. I love this business angle.
Absolute three-year growth: 281.3%
7. Fluentbe: $3.2M/yr helping people learn English online. 🗣️
We all know how big the language learning market is but I typically see success stories targeting people who already speak English so thought this was interesting.
Absolute three-year growth: 386.9%
6. AIHR: $9.4M/yr offering online courses for people working in (or wanting to work in) human resources. 📁
I love how niche this is.
Absolute three year growth: 412.7%
5. Wolf & Badger: $36M/yr eCommerce store offering products from the world's best independent brands (their words). 🛍️
They offer jewellery, bags, home decor, clothes and more.
Absolute three-year growth: 420.8%
4. Car & Classic: $5.1M/yr with their online auction site for buying & selling classic cars 🚗
Absolute three-year growth: 512.8%
3. photoAiD: $6.9M/yr providing "perfect" passport photos that you can print yourself without having to leave your house. 📸
(photoAiD is how they write out their name — I wasn't being weird).
Absolute three-year growth: 665.9%
2. DotcomCanvas: $1.7M/yr selling wall art, primarily targeting internet entrepreneurs. 🖼️
Honestly, as cheesy as some of them look, I think many of their designs are pretty cool.
Absolute three-year growth: 908.4%
1. Index .dev: $6.2M/yr helping companies find remote software developers 👨💻
Absolute three-year growth: 3,348%

Companies that were close to making the list include Metricool (a social media management SaaS) and No Fluff Jobs (a job board with a memorable name).
You can find the complete list here (ft.com/ft1000-2024) though note that most companies aren't digital-first and in industries such as construction.
I promise I hunted out some of the most interesting ones but it's always worth checking out for the effort they put into it.
P.S. The revenue numbers were initially reported in euros, which I rounded to the nearest clean dollar amount. They were revealed in 2024, sharing full-year 2022 revenues.
Revenue is not profit, of course, and I may have simplified some of their business models for brevity.
If you find this interesting, hit 'Like' and let me know. I love researching and reporting on this stuff :)

Although we're waiting for the March 2024 core update to land (soon), it looks like Google has not waited on the manual action front based on the spam policy updates it announced yesterday. I've already had multiple people ping me about sites being completely deindexed. And those sites have a ton of AI content, some with terrible UX, aggressive ads, copied content, and more. And the *scale* of content is big. Sound like something we heard about yesterday??

3. Critical thinking
So many people approach SEO as a list of tasks or tactics to memorize.
They think SEO is some magical scorecard.
This leads to focusing on the wrong tactics, when they often make no sense for the site.
Or missing important opportunities. – at Brooklyn, NY
