This month's featured developer is @thedeif, lead developer at @paint_swap and a jack-of-all-trades software engineer with around 20 years of experience.
When Paintswap released @EstforKingdom, an idle RPG browser game, deif got hooked, started building third-party tools for its players and was eventually hired by Paintswap. Now lead developer, they work across the whole stack to push what's possible for onchain games.
"Before Envio Estfor ran on legacy The Graph and considering we had tens of millions of tracked events it would take over a day to release new features or fix bugs due to the extremely lengthy backfill times. I decided to give Envio a go to see if the speed improvements that they advertised could be remotely achieved internally in Estfor. Our expectations were surpassed not only in terms of speed, but in migration ease, developer support by the Envio team, and developer tooling to help diagnose bottlenecks and better optimise our data handling methods. After the latest optimisation pass our custom deployment using Envio's HyperSync processes >10k events per second, allowing us to backfill 2 years of historical data in under an hour (over 30x speed improvement)! I would not hesitate to recommend Envio to anyone that needs to track onchain event data." - deif, Lead Developer at Paintswap on Estfor Kingdom
Well done, deif 🥇

Whitepaper soon
Used Opus 5.5 to build a 3D fractal explorer that runs directly in the browser, even on mobile. Uses WebGL 2 and ray marching to calculate pixels directly on the GPU.
No three.js or external libraries. Open source and MIT license, give it a spin! fractals.paintoshi.dev

This is a blockchain that I originally started development back in 2022, had written a draft whitepaper and done some basic development but knew it would just take too much time, and I was already so busy with the V3 version of the @paint_swap marketplace at the time, and then @EstforKingdom so it was put on the backburner.
Over those 4+ years, I saw blockchain after blockchain fail not only the users but the developers too. With the advancements of AI it opened up a lot more possibilities both in development and the blockchain itself. I decided to pick it back up and show what can be done with a innovative team that cares about creating good quality products and supporting developers.
This is not a fork, it's built from scratch and the most innovative L1 there will ever be, it's a completely new way of thinking. I look forward to sharing more details next week.
When I first saw the blog post I was a little confused. Michael’s post here now makes it clearer. I’m saddened it’s ended like this Michael was always one of the most supportive and responsive team members from day one of launch of @paint_swap and @EstforKingdom
Recently @soniclabs published a notice stating that my relationship with the company had been “terminated with immediate effect”. They published this while on the same day asking for my help and saying they hoped I was well.
The notice gives no reason. However, the impression it creates — that I was removed for possible wrongdoing — is false.
My departure was not voluntary. After eight years, a severance and release agreement was negotiated and signed between myself and Sonic Labs and its affiliates. For over two and a half months, Sonic Labs repeatedly promised to honour that agreement. They now refuse. My existing contractor agreement was also not honoured.
That release agreement provides that neither party would publicly disparage the other. What should have remained an internal matter was instead made public by Sonic Labs, causing damage. I am therefore responding.
I worked over eight years at Fantom / Sonic. Very few projects in this industry last that long. I took the project from a scam and made it into something. I almost single-handedly won a $150 million lawsuit in Korea for the company, described at the time as Korea’s largest cryptocurrency dispute. David Richardson, the owner of Fantom and Sonic, wrote: “We really do [owe] much of this to you Michael - you have been tireless and dogged - exceeding even current counsel's efforts. The Foundation owes you much gratitude.” Yet this is how that work is treated in the end. Zero respect.
I reserve all rights with respect to any claims against Sonic Labs and its affiliates.

Looks like @paint_swap may have fixed the biggest hurdle in Web3 gaming: friction.
With Account Abstraction now live in @EstforKingdom, the experience is starting to feel a lot more like the games many of us grew up with.

Account Abstraction is now live in Estfor ⚙️
We've introduced AA + Paymasters to make the game feel much closer to a traditional Web2 experience while still running fully on Web3 under the hood.
Here’s what players should know 🧵
The greatest upgrade to @EstforKingdom is right around the corner.
Sir @0xdeif built an incredible Account Abstraction system using @safe modules, @SonicLabs FeeM gas subsidies, and passkeys. I plugged it into our idle game — and it changes everything!
Here's what's coming 👇
Estfor is a security-first game built for multi-device play. Our AA system lets you link additional passkeys to your Safe — so you can play across devices and passkey managers with ease. It also doubles as a backup system.
Your passkeys, your account 🔒
